Diablo hostility?

It says in this article that the Diablos will not become hostile towards Toni after this mission, which I believed to be true until today. I just completed this mission, and when I entered Hepburn Heights, the Diablos started attacking me completely unprovoked. This is the first time I have ever seen this happen on LCS, so I'm wondering whether they only become hostile towards Toni for a short time, then the hostility is turned off later in the game for some reason.
