* The song heard during the opening cutscene is ''In a Big Country'' by Big Country. It is not featured on any radio station in GTA Vice City. The song is replaced by ''The Message'' by Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five (which is featured on the radio station [[Wildstyle]]) in later versions.

* This mission can be attempted with a [[Wanted Level in GTA III Era#Three stars|3-star wanted level]] or higher, although this is riskier as roadblocks can appear and the player's car tires can be punctured, making the race much harder. Also, the player runs the risk of being rammed with great force.

The Driver is a mission in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City given to protagonist Tommy Vercetti from the Malibu Club in Vice Point, Vice City as an asset mission.

Mission

Tommy Vercetti, having obtained the services of locksmith/safe cracker Cam Jones and gun runner Phil Cassidy, tells Cassidy and Ken Rosenberg that he needs a getaway driver for the planned bank robbery. Rosenberg suggests himself but Cassidy recommends and phones Hilary King, who he describes as being a great driver. King agrees to join the team but only if Vercetti can beat him in an illegal street race.

Vercetti meets King outside the Malibu Club in his Sabre Turbo. King advises Vercetti that if he loses he won't assist him as a driver. Vercetti then enters a parked Sentinel and races against King, passing through the various checkpoints throughout Vice Point, Washington Beach, and Ocean Beach before returning to the Club ahead of King despite being pursued by the Vice City Police Department for illegal street racing. King, arriving at the final checkpoint shortly after Vercetti, agrees to assist him in the robbery.
