Welcome IanPhoenix

Hi , welcome to Grand Theft Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay.

We're pleased you've chosen to come to Grand Theft Wiki. We are a little different to many other sites, because we pride ourselves on encouraging every user to pitch in and help out, not just the experts.

Even if you're new and don't know much about how wikis work, we encourage you to get stuck in and start editing away! Any edit can be can be reversed, so don't worry about breaking things too much! Have a practice in the sandbox too if you like.

  • If you do need help, check out our Help section.
  • If you want to know more about Grand Theft Wiki, see our About page.
  • If you're interested in our rules and the way we do things on Grand Theft Wiki, check out our Policy.
  • If you'd like to interact with the rest of the community here, check out our Community Hub.
  • If you want a safe place to test out editing, have a play around with our Sandbox

Whether you're brand new to wikis or are more experienced, check out our Tasks page, which shows you the sorts of things we need you to help out with on here.

I hope you enjoy being a part of this wiki, and that get involved in the community here! If you need help, ask any of our Staff members and leave a message on our talk/discussion pages. Have fun!

Re: GTAV Template

That's not a problem! Generally speaking, on GTW templates should work as they come without having to align/float them, except in unusual situations. Here we thrive on revising others' edits, and on having our own edits patched up by others. Even the staff make mistakes and get things wrong. The hardest part is writing new content, which is what we really need. Fixing it up can come later! But yes your edits are being positively received, keep up the good work! gboyers talk 12:07, 10 December 2012 (UTC)

Welcome to the Wiki!

Hey I've noticed you've been putting in a lot of work here at the Wiki. You've made browsing the Recent Edits very easy by continuing to put Summaries, a lot of users don't bother but it can really waste another editors time trying to check each edit to make sure it's acceptable for the Wiki. Keep up the good work and let me know if you have any questions regarding the GTA series. Also, how stoaked are you for Grand Theft Auto V? Grand Theft AJ (talk|edits) 22:46, 20 December 2012 (UTC)

RE: Animals page

Hi there, and thanks for your feedback! I haven't been particularly active on here for quite some time now - partly due to loss of interest in GTA right now (until GTA V is released). However, I still care enormously about this wiki, and just because I'm not editing, that doesn't mean I'm not on the site everyday! I regularly scan Recent Edits, mainly for talk page edits and discussions that I can help out with. I've seen a lot of your edits, and they are always of high quality - Plus you regularly use talk pages to discuss things, which is great! Keep up the good work, and I look forward to continuing to work with you in the future. JFletcherTalk (formerly User:Biggest gta fan ever) 02:36, 3 January 2013 (UTC)

Hi IanPhoenix. You have been nominated for promotion to Administrator. Please edit your nomination page, indicating whether you accept the nomination. If you do accept, please answer the questions on that page. Other members may add further questions before I make the final decision over the course of the next week. Good luck! gboyers talk 21:49, 3 February 2013 (UTC)

Congratulations, you have been promoted to Administrator! This has given you access to additional tools to be able to help keep this wiki running smoothly, such as deleting pages (where it is spam, vandalism or there is a consensus amongst users) and banning troublesome users (with adequate justification). Have an explore of Special:SpecialPages and get acquainted with your new tools. Feel free to ask me any questions you have! gboyers talk 22:40, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
Congratulations on your promotion! I have noticed the quality of your edits recently and it was definitely a deserved move. Good luck with your new assignment and don't forget you can always ask if there is anything you need help with. Andreaz1 (talk|edits) 00:00, 13 February 2013 (UTC)

Just wanting to say thanks for the nomination and acceptance to those involved. I feel as time goes on, my editing skills only get better, and with the nomination, I've been paying attention to the stuff that I will need to with my new role, as you may have noticed with a couple of my recent edits. Though it may seem I didn't edit for a few days, I was still active here, patrolling edits and seeing what needed help. I will continue to work the way I have been here, just adding a little more responsibility to that. -Ian Phoenix (talk|edits) 00:40, 13 February 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Re: Signature

Hi there, any user can change their signature using Special:Preferences. In the text box, enter the code for your desired signature, and be sure to tick Treat signature as wikitext (without an automatic link). The code for superscript is Talk, so my entire signature is '''[[User:JFletcher|JFletcher]]''[[User talk:JFletcher|Talk]]'''''. Hope that helps! Re: Patrolling Broken

In reply to Patrolling broken?

Sorry to hear that the mark as patrol button is not working for you. I used to have the same problem but I'm now able to use that. I haven't changed anything on my end, so I don't know how to help on that. A 'mark as patrol' button should appear in the bottom right of the new page, if you click on the new pages link. If you click here the 'mark this page as patrolled' link should be next to the enemies part of the infobox. Hope that helps. A-Dust 14:27, 12 April 2013 (UTC)

It did help, except for the talk pages I created in January regarding the misspelling of the image pages (here and here). I'm sure the fact that the pages have been moved since then is why. Is there a way to clear these out or will they permanently be unpatrolled? Ian Phoenixtalk 02:45, 13 April 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
You can also use the New Pages button on RecentChanges and change the selection to 'File Talk' located here. From there if you click the links the button to patrol the edit will appear. A-Dust 17:13, 13 April 2013 (UTC)
Thanks. I know you said you don't really want to get too involved with the problems of the Wiki, so I do appreciate the help. Ian Phoenixtalk 21:49, 13 April 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

What I mean by the Userbox Template not work this that whenever I go to it it says that it need the documentation and when I click on it it needs to be crated. So can you or somebody else crate it? Thanks --Debolars (talk|edits) 22:12, 13 April 2013 (UTC)Jacob

Thanks for the Infobox! :) --Debolars (talk|edits) 11:58, 14 April 2013 (UTC)Jacob

It's on this page that Jimmy is said to be born in 1993. But, of course, more information can be added afterwards. I was just wandering around pages when I suddenly saw that.--Super Wang 06:25, 4 August 2013 (BST)

Real-life brand logos

Im sorry for this, you can delete all of them right now, I needed them for my own work - IV car database table. I made a screenshot of it so i dont need these logos anymore. Thanks --Libertonian (talk|edits) 05:19, 13 August 2013 (BST)

Hello. I was wondering if you know what can be done about the articles regarding the spacing? Like they aren't broken into paragraphs anymore except in editing. They're just grouped in together. Awc (talk|edits) 06:22, 13 August 2013 (BST)

If you could give this a quick look and give any feedback on what you think could be improved it would be greatly appreciated. The plan would be for it to be finished before the games release. A-Dust 01:26, 16 August 2013 (BST)

Redirect Page Delete

I've tried to make separate pages for the 3D Universe and HD Universe renditions of the Grove Street Families and grossly misspelled "Families" in both. So, I need them removed. At the moment, they are simply redirects to the original page.

--Gsu eagle 31049 (talk|edits) 18:18, 16 August 2013 (BST)

Do you want them moved instead of deleted? Pages can be moved to fix spelling mistakes.--spaceeinstein 18:55, 16 August 2013 (BST)

Duplicate File

I just realized that I uploaded a duplicate of an existing file: File:Flag-of-the-Dominican-Republic.png. Please delete the file I uploaded. Thanks. --Gsu eagle 31049 (talk|edits) 16:08, 10 September 2013 (BST)

Grand Theft Auto V

Hey buddy, just wandering through on my random journey though the wiki and figured I'd stop by to say hey, and ask how you're enjoying Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online?! Personally I am in love with the game, Rockstar Games does not disappoint (me anyway) haha. What are your opinions on the game? And which GTA game is your favourite? (storyline, or game play, or features etc.) Grand Theft AJ (talk|edits) 17:07, 21 February 2014 (GMT)

I have explored Ludendorff a bunch of times with glitches, and I'm REALLY hoping they make some DLC for Grand Theft Auto V or Grand Theft Auto Online that may be a whole map of North Yankton (since Ludendorff is just a small town in what could be a very interesting Midwest state!) I'd love to play in a snowy map with all those mountains. They could add snowmobiles and sports like snowboarding/skiing and hockey. That could open up a bunch of new material for them to use!
I've also noticed something VERY interesting. Lately, Rockstar Games has been referring to the GTA V map as Southern San Andreas on their website instead of just San Andreas. This leads me to believe that future DLC (or a future game) will include the Northern half of San Andreas which would hopefully be San Fierro and Las Venturas (and hopefully lots of desert)! They still exist in the Universe so it's possible to just connect a bridge. Another piece of evidence I have to back this up is during the mission The Merryweather Heist. In the offshore version of this mission Trevor, Michael and Franklin leave Floyd's apartment and start heading to Sandy Shores. At one point Franklin complains that "going halfway across the State, is still going halfway across the State." Considering they are pretty much going from one end of the map to the other, Franklin stating halfway also hints that this is only half of San Andreas at the moment. Therefore I'm sure San Fierro and Las Venturas will make an appearance in the near future as DLC or maybe a whole new game! What do you think about that? I'd love to get a second opinion. GTA Online

Would you be able to provide GTA Online specific information to articles? I ask only because I've seen you adding articles for each of the GTA Online content updates and I'm still going through GTA V to get the information for the game on here. A-Dust 21:46, 13 April 2014 (BST)

Thank you! To be honest it can be anything exclusive to the game including missions and other multiplayer aspects of the game. We're still going through GTA V and have a lot of content still to add let alone with GTA Online. A-Dust 22:08, 13 April 2014 (BST)
