:This wiki isn't just me, it's the entire community. But I certainly wasn't playing GTA in the 90s. Don't forget that [[GTA 1]] was only released in 1997. I think I first played GTA 1 when I was around 14. Those games ''were'' suitable for those ages, because it was just driving and shooting, and the storyline was almost invisible. From GTA III onwards it becomes unsuitable. Vice City I got at 15 I think - given that drugs are quite prevalent in the storyline I wouldn't go much younger. :Hey. Are you referring to the actual white content area (where the article text is)? If so, there are many reasons these are "boring" colours - ranging from readability, to the fact that most images have white-backgrounds, and changing it would mean a massive project to change every single template and page so that the colours matched. What you perceive as exciting/cool colours usually ends up being hard to read. If you mean things other than the content area, there isn't actually much room to style. The header/banner is pretty colourful and relevant, and the left navigation just matches the content area for the same reasons. I don't think either of these is bringing the rep of the wiki down, but I agree a boring design doesn't look good. Perhaps link me to a wiki you think looks good but is still readable? When i try to do polls, they will, not load, up even when im trying to make one only two suggestions come up, i think ther is something glitchy about it because each time ive tried it, it will not work. I just stopped by (again) to say that some time ago I chose to expand pages as my staff duty but I checked most of the pages on the expansion category and there is very and I mean very few pages that really need expansion as those that are in the category are just minor things in GTA that don't need expansion but is just small things with-in the GTA games like inaccesible stores or pedestrian article.Im am not saying that there aren't any pages that need expansion but there is barely any.-[[User:BloodyGTA]]

Hi gboyers, I was saying on the discussion page for "Involuntary Ejection" that, since it's not a proper name, it should be renamed to "Involuntary ejection" (lowercase 'e').  There are quite a few pages like this, but it's obviously not Wiki policy or style to capitalise ''every'' page title (see: [[Controversy in the GTA series]], for example).  What do you reckon, capitalise them all, fix the capitalised ones, or leave it inconsistent?  I'd be happy to do it myself, but I don't have name-changing privileges, hoho. :Actually, on this wiki it IS policy to write titles in title case, not sentence case (like wikipedia) or CamelCase (like MeatballWiki). So capitalise all words except minor words (such as: a, is, in, the). Most of the pages on this wiki are named after games, missions, people etc, so end up being proper nouns (and thus capitalised anyway). For the rest of the pages, they are titles rather than opening sentences, so we've always had a policy of using title case. Just because it's different to Wikipedia doesn't make it wrong :). :Hey, you don't need my permission to write any articles. However, it's good to ask if you aren't sure whether something would be useful or not. I don't think every trophy needs its own page, because there probably isn't enough content to warrant 50 new pages. However, perhaps you could make a new page which shows every trophy in more detail, like with a paragraph for each one, maybe some instructions, and a map/photo? If it turns out that there is a lot of information you could write, then we could  pages instead. Would it be possible to look into that days-long conflict between [[User:Chimpso]] and [[User:Stephendwan]] again? Apparently there has been some misunderstanding between the two, and their talk pages have become little warzones. You have obviously tried hard not to explode and yell at him, but you still need to make sure you read over your posts a couple of times before you hit 'save', just to remove the emotion from the situation. Just thought of bringing this to your attention. Been noticing some bizarre edits from [[User:Lasolas]] lately. Most of them are [[Special:Contributions/Lasolas|related to blanking of info]] on [[Terry Thorpe]] and replacement of some of these cut pages with Bill Gates' name for some reason (given the narrow subject matter, Microsoft, the Xbox 360 and TLAD, it could be a personal thing related to the TLAD). == Removing /wiki from URL ==
Hi Gboyers. Just wanted to give you a heads up. Wikia is working on a SEO (Search Engine Optimization) project to test the effect of removing /wiki from all of our URLs. So http://godzilla.wikia.com/wiki/Mothra would become http://godzilla.wikia.com/Mothra. This was suggested to us by someone at Google. There are a few things that we're hoping to see:
* There should be better click-through from search results. People tend to click on shorter, less complex URLs.
* We're hoping to see some improvement in the search rankings, because Google will see the keyword ("Mothra") closer to the beginning of the URL and therefore more important.
* Also, it will be easier for people to link to our pages, which might increase the number of links that we get.
Obviously, all of the old links will still work. Links and bookmarks with /wiki will be automatically redirected to the new URL. We're testing it out on 4 wikis, with this wiki being one of them, starting on Thursday of this week (Oct 15). We'll track this over the next month, and see if we get the results we're looking for. If we do, then we'll make this happen sitewide.

:If you think it's useful, sure. But {{template|gta}} has all the protagonists, and that should be on every protagonists' page. I don't think an antagonist one would be massively useful, but what would be good is something like {{template|gtaiv characters}} which lists all the main characters. :Firstly, we have clear [[Promotion]] procedures. There isn't a minimum number of posts, but you would need to be able to prove you are a respected part of this community, and that you know the wiki completely inside-out, which is pretty much impossible with only a few edits. However, you can still be a very valuable membre of the community without necessarily having a delete button - you can fix other peoples edits, [[CT|mark stuff]] for deletion, and complete any of the hundreds of [[Tasks]] that need doing. As for blocking users, I'm sure if I wanted them blocked I could do it myself. However, we don't base our sanctions on what I want, it's what's in the best interest of this wiki and it's community. ==Consistency==
Consistency is one of the policies on the Wiki and it is something that people ignore, so I have been going back to renaming the character images, as I had been doing before. The other, 'more useful', things are more likely to be done by other members of staff. It is also something I have no problem in doing at the moment and is a project big enough to keep me going for quite a while, as it is something I would eventually spread to all/most images across the site.
