Diamonds: Difference between revisions

Apparently, all of the protagonists in GTA IV and both episodes never accomplished in permanently owning the diamonds in their storylines, apart from stealing them. Most ''everyone'' aside from the GTA player characters that had physically touched the diamonds are killed between the three games, either in a directly related way, or in some unrelated mission.  

Niko arrived in Liberty City on the Platypus with hopes of settling down with his cousin, he was unaware that the ship was carrying certain cargo that he would soon be involved with. Niko only held the diamonds twice. The first time, only for a few minutes, after he took them from [[Luca Silvestri]]'s body in the mission [[Meltdown]] and handed them back to [[Ray Boccino]]. The second, before and during the [[Museum Piece|trade]] with [[Isaac Roth]] at the Libertonian museum. After he handed them to [[Mori Green]], Luis Lopez interrupted in meeting with AK fire. Johnny Klebitz grabbed the $2,000,000 and escaped, Luis took the diamonds and returned them to Gay Tony, while Niko was only interested in getting out alive and escaped with nothing.

Later, Gerald McReary, who was in league with Ray and the Pegorinos, got his brother Packie, and Niko, a friend of the McReary family to kidknap Gracie Ancelotti to force Luis and Tony into trading the diamonds for Gracie. Niko saw them again in the meeting with Luis, during [[Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend|the exchange]], but he and Packie were forced to fight off Ray Bulgarin's goons after he ambushed the deal. They were ultimately unsuccessful when the diamonds were dropped into a garbage truck by one of Bulgarin's goons, and Niko and Packie left empty handed.

Luis Lopez tagged along when Gay Tony went to buy the diamons from the cook. This purchase was crashed by Johnny and the Lost. The cook fled, and Gay Tony's boyfriend Evan Moss tried to get back to Maisonette 9 with the diamonds. Johnny ordered a group of Lost members to chase Luis and Tony, while he caught up with Evan, killed him and took the diamonds, then put them in the trash for Niko to collect. Luis managed to keep the Lost members at bay by using sticky bombs. Eventually, Gay Tony informed Luis that the diamonds were ready to be sold in the museum, prompting Luis to head there and recover them in the mission [[Not So Fast]]. Niko handed the diamonds over to [[Mori Green]] to inspect, but Luis pops up and shoots him. Johnny grabs the loose cash and [[Issac Roth]] grabed the diamonds from Mori's body and hid under a table. While Niko and Johnny were busy fighting off the Jewish mob, Luis found Issac hiding and knocked him out with his his AK, taking the diamonds. Luis escaped and delivered them back to Tony, who secured them in his safe.

==== Ray Bulgarin ====

Technically, Bulgarin is the real owner of the diamonds and was been stolen (in which the person that stole the diamond is unknown). It appears in the opening cutscene, in the ownership of [[The Cook]]. He arrives in Liberty City not knowing who stole his diamonds until he was told that the diamonds were in the hands of The Cook with Luis and Gay Tony as his dealers. He then plans to kill them. He later appears in the hostage deal where he orders his men to kill them but his men managed to retrieve the diamonds but it was short. One of Bulgarin's men throws the diamonds into a passing garbage truck before being killed, leaving Nico and Packie empty-handed. He later appears in the [[Departure Time|last mission in TBoGT]] and plans to flee Liberty City, only to come back later to take out Gay Tony and Luis. Luis manages to get inside his plane and kills him.

Ray was the first person to introduce the diamonds to Niko and Johnny. Most of Ray's tasks to Niko and Johnny succeed, until they eventually come to sell the diamonds to the Jewish mob. After the deal is ambushed by Luis, who takes the diamonds, Johnny decides to steal all of the cash for the Lost MC, instead of splitting it with Niko and Ray. Niko only escaped with his life. Ray immediatley sends Niko out to kill Johnny and the Lost, however Niko only finds and kills Jim Fitzgerald, Johnny's best friend. Ray sends a hit squad to Alderney to deal with Johnny instead. Johnny calls on his friends Terry and Clay to help deal with Ray's guys, while Niko is introduced to Jimmy Pegorino. In anger, Ray destroys the Lost MC clubhouse, and conspires with their former leader Billy Grey, who is in prison, to turn states and rat on the club in order to get Johnny sent down. However, Thomas Stubbs III, a congressman who Johnny had previously assisted, persuades Johnny to stay well away from Ray, as Stubbs predicted he would soon be killed also. His prediction proved correct, when Pegorino ordered Niko to do the job.

They, with the help of Niko Bellic find the stashed diamonds that Johnny Klebitz stole during Gay Tony and Luis' diamond deal with The Cook, they do this subtly disguised as trash collectors. After the trio keep the diamonds for themselves, Niko [[Meltdown|kills them]] and another fat person, then takes the diamonds back to Ray Boccino.

The result in stealing Ray's diamonds and attempting to deal with them ended with the Cook have been beheaded by Bulgarin.

During the missions [[Diamonds in the Rough]]/[[Frosting on the Cake]], Evan attempts to flee with the diamonds after [[The Lost Brotherhood]] members ambush the deal. Evan was chased down by [[Johnny Klebitz]] and affiliates, and murdered.

After attempting to buy the diamonds off Niko Bellic and Johnny Klebitz, Luis Lopez ambushed the deal, knocking him out and stealing the diamonds seconds after spending 2 million cash on them. Isaac blames Ray Boccino for the betrayal, which in turn leads to his murder in the mission [[Late Checkout]].

Mori was the partner of Issac Roth. They were about to buy the diamonds off of Niko Bellic and Johnny Klebitz on behalf of the Pegorinos, when Luis Lopez kills Mori and then subsequently steals the diamonds off Issac Roth.

One of Bulgarin's goons was fast enough to take the diamonds off the ground in front of [[Niko]] and [[Packie]]. Later, during the battle of mission, [[Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend]], he was been chased by them and was asked to return diamonds. He refused, because there was no way for him to survive and threw the diamonds to the trash truck. He was then killed by desperate Niko and Packie.

In all of the people that are involved in stealing the diamonds, including the protagonists, Jerry was the luckiest. A homeless man, he appeared in the last cutscene in TBoGT where he was been bumped by Luis and found the pouch with the diamonds inside. He inspects it, runs off gleefully, was been decided that Jerry will keep the diamonds, and plans to go to Vice City where he could establish a liquor shop and a gun store.

 

Humorously, he appears in GTA IV during the mission where [[Vladimir Glebov]] tells [[Niko Bellic]] to steal a car. Jerry appears on the street asking for crack money only to been told off by Vlad.
