*Why does each of these articles include the category, when the category is automatically transcluded from the [[Characters by Surname/Header|header]]? | |||

I just edited the header to use <code><nowiki><includeonly></includeonly></nowiki></code>, because it's a template, and doesn't need to be in a content category. But why does the category need to be included in two ways? Which one should we stick to?
