Wang Cars: Difference between revisions

In GTA San Andreas, the showroom is located between [[Downtown San Fierro]] and [[Doherty]], [[San Andreas in GTA III Era|San Andreas]]. It is just up the street from [[Carl Johnson|Carl Johnson's]] [[Doherty Garage]]. Randomly spawning cars are parked in the street-side outdoor lot that the player may access. The showroom will only be for sale after the completion of [[Driving School]] and the mission [[Yay Ka-Boom-Boom]], and after the player receives a phone call from [[Jethro]], alerting CJ about the showroom. One will need [[Money|$]]50,000 to purchase the showroom. Completion of the missions will reward the player with new vehicle spawns in the showroom and the business as an [[Assets in GTA San Andreas|asset]] will generate a maximum of $8,000 per pick-up.

When he arrives in [[San Fierro]], [[Carl Johnson]] realizes he has been tricked into accepting an abandoned [[Doherty Garage|garage]] in the industrial neighborhood of [[Doherty]] as his prize for beating [[Claude]] and [[Catalina]] in a street race. But before he can slip into self-pity, his sister [[Kendl Johnson]] and his closest ally from [[Los Santos in GTA III Era|Los Santos]], [[Cesar Vialpando]], urge Carl to turn the garage into a successful chop-shop. Carl's new friend, [[The Truth]], mentions a few local friends of his, [[Dwaine]], [[Jethro]], and [[Zero]], that would be willing to work in the garage, and the two men set off to locate them.

*The name "Wang Cars," if spoken fast, will become "Wankers". This is one of many sexual references Rockstar places in the Grand Theft Auto games. "Wang" is also a slang word for penis.

* Much like the [[Sunshine Autos]] showroom in [[Grand Theft Auto: Vice City|GTA Vice City]], the Wang Cars showroom is an ideal defensive position that allows the player to survive for extended periods of time while on high [[Wanted Level in GTA III Era|wanted levels]], offering the best chance to acquire otherwise hard-to-obtain law enforcement vehicles (like the [[FBI Rancher]] or [[Rhino]]).<p>The two-floor design of the showroom, coupled with poor pathfinding of NPC AI, results in hostile law enforcements NPCs being unable to reach the player quickly if the player is holed up within the showroom; in addition, [[Police Maverick|police helicopters]] will not pursue the player if the player hides within the confines of the showroom. The showroom's built-in [[Spray Shop|body shops]] and readily available civilian vehicles also make for escapes from the law far easier.
