The Sandking is a high-performance, off road truck, essentially similar to a modified Rancher without rear quarter windows. Introduced in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, the Sandking has made repeated appearances in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories.
Description
The Sandking is pretty much the best all purpose ground vehicle in the Grand Theft Auto series. The Sandking made its introductory appearance in GTA Vice City as an unlockable vehicle if the player managed to deliver a list of wanted cars to Sunshine Autos. This would spawn one at the second level of the building, which could be maneuvered out. In GTA San Andreas the Sandking makes another appearance, this time being more easily obtainable, and more user-friendly, it can be found on several beaches throughout the state as well as in "The Big Ear". It appears to be based on a first generation Ford Bronco II. In its third appearance in GTA: Vice City Stories, the Sandking is always parked in a long row of parking space by Ocean Drive.
In all of its appearances, the Sandking is depicted with a myriad of modifications commonly associated with rally vehicles. In addition to its racing liveries, the Sandking boats large offroad wheels, a large spoiler, and several air scoops on the hood lid and roof.
Performance and miscellaneous
The Sandking has excellent handling, due to its escalated suspension system, and super gripping tires. In GTA San Andreas, it is sometimes available with hydraulics common in lowriders. The vehicle is capable of high speeds, while staying easily controllable. In GTA San Andreas, its engine sound dramatically changes. It boasts the player's sex appeal to about a 75% level, making this car a great choice for off-roading, street racing, mountain climbing, cruising, launching off ramps and picking up girls.
