Apple have not until recently had any avaliable GTA games for their iPhone and iPod Touch systems, until the new release of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars by Rockstar Leeds has thrilled all GTA fans and iPhone or iPod Touch owners.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars

Chinatown Wars was quietly released onto the App Store at midnight on Monday, January 18th, 2010. The game features the same missions that were avaliable for the Nintendo DS and PSP versions. One differece is the lack of Rockstar Games Social Club functionality, something that would be nice to receive in a future update. The Xin missions which were only avaliable after completing the main story line, locating the two Gardian Lions of Fo and syncing the device to Social Club, are now avaliable without the hastle of Social Club. Independence FM allows you to play a user track playlist entitled GTA on iTunes, saves people from the drivel of the preset radio stations. Graphics are very similar to the PSP version, and has all the touch screen functionality of the DS - only better.

Future Games

It is impossible to know for sure whether Rockstar Games will release another GTA for iPhone or iPod Touch or will just constantly improve the current version. Maybe something similar to Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories for PSP. But all we can do is wait and guess.
