Belleville Park

Belleville Park is a small enclave of forest within Liberty City located on Staunton Island. Belleville Park only appears in Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories since the park is later replaced with Middle Park in GTA IV.

The Park

The park itself is a quiet place many in Liberty City come to so they may get away from city life for a while. It is situated in Staunton Island, close to Uptown Yardies and Yakuza turf, though there is little gang violence in this particular area. The park has many trees, giving it a feeling of sheltered calm. The park also has a small pond in the southern half of the park, and just north is a lavatory, where corrupt police officer Ray Machowski spent his final days in Liberty before fleeing the city. In 1998, Mayor Roger C. Hole is assassinated by Toni Cipriani also here at the grounds. In GTA Liberty City Stories, the park also has a Molotov Cocktail, a Police Bribe and a Health Icon.

The park is loosely based off of wikipedia:Central Park in wikipedia:New York City, since Liberty City (both in GTA III and GTA IV) are based off of New York City to a certain extent. However, Belleville Park is much smaller than its real-life counter-part.
