The Cargobob is a helicopter exclusive to Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. It is the largest and heaviest helicopter in the game and the hardest to obtain due to being located in Area 69 and being guarded by SAMs. For that reason, it is the most underused helicopter in the game, as the other helicopters are relatively easy to find after all three cities are unlocked.
The Cargobob does not have a special ability to fit motorcycles/cars in it, because the ramp from the back cannot be operated.
The Cargobob has no form of defense, and also due to its very heavy weight it is hard to do turns, adjust altitude, evasive manouvers, but it is very strong; it can take over 12 missiles before catching on fire.
Influence
The Cargobob's fuselage is most reminiscent of a CH-47 Chinook (bulging fuel tanks, engine, cockpit/nose design, rear loading ramp), however it is configured most similarly to, and bears strong resemblance to, the S-92. The Fenestron tail rotor would most likely not be employed on an aircraft of this size, due to the limitations of a 'ducted fan' system in terms of performance when compared to a conventional tail rotor.
Locations
- On the helipad of the K.A.C.C. Military Aviation Fuel Depot in Las Venturas which you can easily enter with a Patriot
- Inside Area 69
