::{{Rebut}}It is an elegant way to finish off the map. When the player is inland, the player doesnt notice this, looks like any old place. Like, in canon, most of the GTA maps are connected to land (Not sure which, but San Andreas is believed to be around Las Venturas, according to a map hidden somewhere ingame), and BTW wouldnt be stupid to be driving along on a freeway to suddenly run into some barrier that says "Road Closed" and its impossible to jump over and use air transport over?

::{{Rebut}}Actually, in canon, Alderney is connected to the mainland and is actually much larger. The reason they make it an island is that they want to keep the player within the playable area, the area in which the story is taking place. In the GTA III Era, Liberty City was two islands and Shoreside Vale, which was connected to the mainland. In a map, you could actually see that there were two roads that lead upstate that were connected to the Cochrane Dam, but they were inaccessible. Adding artificial barriers to the game just seems like an ugly addition, so the rest of Alderney (and, therefore, the mainland) was omitted in order to keep the protagonist in the place where his story is happening.

{{Gripe}} The cops were supposed to be more intelligent. They were meant to pull you up if your car was riddled with bullets or blood or serious damage & you were supposed to be questioned, not shot on sight.

:{{Rebut}}You're gripe is in the wrong section. it should be under Police gripes. Move it there and I'll rebut your gripe.

{{Gripe}}Using the rear view while driving and then going back to the forward view will often result in cars appearing out of nowhere.  Extremely annoying. There will be a clear street in front of you one minute, then you check the cops chasing you in the rear view, then suddenly slam into a car infront of you that wasn't there a second ago.  Please don't rebut with something like "they just turned onto the street" because this happens on bridges as well.
