M249
The M249 is a weapon from the heavy artillery collection featured exclusively in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. It is a powerful, one shot kill gun and is slightly weaker than the Minigun. It is based on the real life M249 SAW and holds 100 rounds per magazine. It replaces the M60 from Grand Theft Auto: Vice City to fit it's timeline. This weapon is featured on the mission "Farewell to Arms". Unlike the M60 from GTA Vice City and Liberty City Stories, the M249 has an unique firing and reloading animation and is no longer a straight copy from the assault rifle animation. The M249 is a weapon of choice for several rampages. The weapon will return in The Ballad of Gay Tony.
Locations
- At the InterGlobal Films studio in the first studio directly northwest of the entrance.
- Spawns at each safehouse after shooting all 99 red balloons.
