New Guernsey is a state in Grand Theft Auto that is implied to be located next to Liberty City proper. It is based on New Jersey with similarities in geography and name that comes from Guernsey, a Channel Island, like Jersey.

Although New Guernsey is stated in the written history of Liberty City to be a whole American state, only a small fragment of it is shown in the game, consisting of five incorporated towns and cities, or districts, on a western landmass located very close to the boroughs of Liberty City, both of which are separated by a western river. They include, from north to south:

While located in a neighboring state, the aforementioned New Guernsey districts also form part of the Liberty City metropolitan area, similar to the New York metropolitan area.
