'''Newport''' is a district in the eastern area of [[Staunton Island]], [[Liberty City in GTA III|Liberty City]]. It is a business district with several stores, office buildings, and apartments. Upon entering Staunton Island, via the [[Callahan Bridge]], Newport is the first district entered. In [[1998]], this district was under the control of the [[Forelli Family]], but after a gang war, with the help of [[Toni Cipriani]], the [[Uptown Yardies]] take over the turf and still control it until at least [[2001]], during the events of [[Grand Theft Auto III]]. Also located in this district are; the docks, where several boats can be found, [[City Hall]], an [[Ammu-Nation]], a [[Pay 'n' Spray]], [[8-Ball]]'s bomb shop, and the [[Newport Multistory Car Park]]. [[Yakuza]] member, [[Asuka Kasen]] used to live in a [[Asuka Kasen's Condo|condo]] by the docks and Toni Cipriani lived in an [[Staunton Island Safehouse (LCS)|apartment]] here during 1998. An overpass bridge is also located in Newport, all the way towards [[Torrington]].
