The freeway plays a trivial role in the second half of the mission [[Jizzy (mission)|Jizzy]], where [[Carl Johnson]] has to chase a televangelist priest to kill him. Even if the player is unable to kill him, a long chase eventually winds up both Carl and the priest over the Angel Pine corner of the freeway, where the priest's car crashes into the waters, killing him, thus passing the mission.

The Santa Maria Freeway Extension is a freeway based off the real life Pacific Coast Highway that connects Los Angeles to San Francisco. The freeway begins at Santa Maria in Los Santos and then continues straight. The freeway then goes through Angel Pine and then goes into a tunnel before finally ending in San Fierro.

The freeway plays a trivial role in the second half of the mission Jizzy, where Carl Johnson has to chase a televangelist priest to kill him. Even if the player is unable to kill him, a long chase eventually winds up both Carl and the priest over the Angel Pine corner of the freeway, where the priest's car crashes into the waters, killing him, thus passing the mission.
