The Master and the Molotov

The name of this mission refers to the novel The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov.

Get yourself healed up - burgers are still just $1 at the 69th Street- and then head down to meet with Dimitri Rascalov on the boardwalk. It would probably be a good idea to hit up the gun shop first and pick up a Shotgun (if you lack one) or more ammo for it (if you don’t).

An Unpopular Revolution

Walk up to trigger a cutscene in which Dimitri lays it out flat - Mikhail Faustin is far too dangerous to be allowed to stay at the head of this gang. Though he hates saying it about his close friend, Dimitri can’t allow such a madman to keep running the local syndicate into the floor. He needs you to remove Mikhail from the top spot.

Dmitri realizes that this mission will not be easy and tells you he’s left you some protection up the street from the Perestroika cabaret club. Mikhail is about to head there even as you’re talking (don’t bother trying to intercept him. He’s there as soon as the cutscene ends). He will then arrive with two guards in a Black Schafter.

Get in your car and drive to the Perestroika cabaret club. Dimitri must have a sense of humor - the protection is sitting in the same spot where Roman Bellic was found hiding in the dumpster earlier.

Faustin's Bad Luck

Enter Perestroika. This will show a cutscene where Mikhail says that he's at the top, and that you and Dimitri are taking over. He exclaims that he is not dead yet. Take your Shotgun or Assault Rifle and shoot all the guards. Chase Mikhail out of the back door. There will be a few guards in the back of the club and outside of it.

Remember to shoot Faustin as much as you can because probably it will be dark and it will then be difficult to kill him.

Mikhail will run up some stairs to the top of them and start saying some things about Dimitri. Once they’re all dead, Mikhail will open fire on you with his Micro Uzi. Don’t bother to return fire; climb the escape quickly and you'll see that he's stuck at the top of the stairs. While you follow him to the roof Faustin will say something about Dimitri who he says has betrayed him and warns Niko that he will betray him as well. He also blabs on about how America has made Dimitri very greedy.

When you reach the top, he’ll drop his gun and start blabbing on about how he was betrayed and you will be too. There is a possible execution and three ways to do it. Way 1: Take out your pistol and point it at Mikhail. When the reticule flashes red, shoot. Way 2: Take a baseball bat or knife and hit Mikhail with it until he falls off the edge. Way 3: Use free aim and shoot Mikhail in the stomach. After 2 or 3 shots, he should fall off the building.

A completely different alternative is to go almost to the top of the stairs until it looks like Mikhail is behind cover. Shoot the cover with a rocket launcher. Mikhail will not fall off however you can take his money (he has about $60) if you run through the fireworks around him.

That’s that. You’ll get some cash- likely Mikhail’s pocket money - and call Dimitri as you head back down the fire escape. He seems sad about the whole thing, but he’s glad it’s done- hopefully, this will mean peace with Petrovic. You’re to call him later for your big reward, and to discuss what’s ahead- for the details on that, see Russian Revolution.
