Unfortunately, a lot of this power is wasted, owing to the fact that the Dukes has a heavy body and very limited traction, even on dry tarmac. It's rear wheel drivetrain allows players to hold long slides with relative ease, because the steering is not overly sensitive.
-Like most other muscle cars based on 1960s or 1970s models, the Dukes has power to spare but needs improvement in handling. They have a strong tendency to oversteer and the rear tires often cop a bit of a smoking under hard acceleration. They do, however, make great burnout/skid cars, with the car being able to keep the tires smoking for long distances.
