:I've been beta-testing the new layout for a while now, and it's pretty good. I will be glad to see many of the Social Tools disappear - the user board can be a big problem since it's not moderated in the same way as the rest of the wiki. However, it's nice for users to have a pre-made profile that updates their information. That said, we can build our own default profile page content easily enough. As for awards/achievements, it's nice to keep a track record, but I'm not sure whether our users value them at all? We don't make a big fuss about them. As Chimpso says, that can cause problems with editing-for-achievements. I wish people would use the preview button more instead of clicking Save 30 times in a row! As for gifts and friends, I think it's only a handful of people who bother. Maybe we can make a better way of doing it (like we do for Userboxes).
