What did R* have planned for the State of Liberty when first conceiving GTA IV?
http://gta.wikia.com/The_Carraways includes a trivia item which refers to the entire State of Liberty originally making an appearance. Anybody know what it would've been like?
Well, if you think about how Liberty City is arranged, but then instead of having Alderney an island it would extend to a landmass connecting Liberty City to mainland USA, and that would include the Carraways. I thing it was a good choice to remove them from playability because it would have not felt as 'complete' as the current Liberty City is like. Because, if you have an extended landmass, at some point you have to put a barrier where the player cannot pass any further, and that is generally irritating for the player.
