Description

GTA San Andreas

Based on a 1970-1972 Chevrolet Monte Carlo (probably the 1972 model since it doesn't have turning signals on the bumper). The car is modeled as a . It is also composed of design elements that resemble the Picador, as the Monte Carlo and El Camino (at the time) were both based on the Chevelle platform; the Picador slightly outperforms the Buccaneer. Despite its appearance, it makes a terrible lowrider and can only be modified at TransFender.

The Buccaneer is one of the gang cars of the Da Nang Boys, along with the Tampa and the Manana. It can only be found in the Easter Basin and Garver Bridge region in San Fierro, along with the Tampa.

GTA IV

The Albany Bucanneer in GTA IV draws inspiration from the same Monte Carlo as is in GTA San Andreas, but is shaped more like the Buccaneer in San Andreas more than the actual car. The front end looks closer to a 1974 Chevrolet Caprice and even more so 1974 Cadillacs (because of the hood ornament) but the bumper doesn't really match neither. The Bucanneer is a fairly heavy car, needing a V8 to lug around its portly weight, however its cornering isn't too bad if you take it easy with the speed.

GTA IV's Bucanneer differs in the spelling of its name. However, the game renders the car's name in both its official and earlier spellings, suggesting the official spelling was changed some time during development, or that it was an accidental mistake. When you enter the vehicle, the name "Bucanneer" pops up, but if you angle the camera so you can see the rear of the car up close, you can see the name "Buccaneer" printed on the car. Also, when you are collecting cars for Stevie, the vehicle name in his text message is once again spelled "Buccaneer".

Upon completion of Stevie's Car Thefts, the Bucanneer may be sold at his garage for $1,800.
