This mission is titled Death at Sea on the [[Rockstar Social Club]] but the in game quest is titled [[What Lies Beneath]]. This quest enables the player to find the [[Submarine Pieces|Submarine Parts]] hidden collectibles 
[[Michael De Santa]], while at the [[Sonar Collections Dock]], will meet [[Abigail Mathers]], the widow of environmentalist and television producer [[Frank Mathers]]. She explains that Frank died when his [[Submersible|submarine]] began to fall apart while underwater and asks Michael to collect the pieces, which are scattered across the [[Pacific Ocean]] surrounding [[San Andreas in GTA V|San Andreas]]. She needs the parts as she can not claim on Frank's life insurance as the insurance company believe the submarine had been tampered with. She provides Michael with a [[Dinghy]], with a sonar to find the broken parts and some scuba diving equipment. [[Abigail Mathers|Abigail]] is found at the [[Sonar Collections Dock]] when playing as [[Michael]] after purchasing the dock by any of the three characters. Abigail speaks about her husband Frank Mathers and his death in a submarine accident. The insurance company believes that the submarine was tampered with and is unwilling to pay Abigail. She asks Michael if he would find the missing [[Submarine Pieces|Submarine Parts]] in order to prove to the insurance company that there was no foul play. Abigail gives Michael a [[Dinghy]] with sonar in order to find the missing Submarine Parts. The parts can be found by any character after the mission has been started by Michael. Once the player find all the 30 submarine parts, the mission [[What Lies Beneath]] automatically begins.

Death at Sea is a mission in Grand Theft Auto V given to protagonist Michael De Santa by Abigail Mathers from the Sonar Collections Dock in Paleto Cove, Blaine County.

Mission

Michael De Santa, while at the Sonar Collections Dock, will meet Abigail Mathers, the widow of environmentalist and television producer Frank Mathers. She explains that Frank died when his submarine began to fall apart while underwater and asks Michael to collect the pieces, which are scattered across the Pacific Ocean surrounding San Andreas. Michael De Santa: Frank Mathers, the TV guy who used to do the shows about space until he became obsessed with undersea exploration? No. Not a huge fan.

Abigail Mathers: Frank was my husband.

Michael De Santa: By not a huge fan I mean... not a huge fan as much as a fanatic.

Abigail Mathers: He was a cruel and heartless man.

Michael De Santa: Well like I said, I was not a huge fan.

Abigail Mathers: But I loved him.

Michael De Santa: Didn't he leave his sick wife and five kids to run off with you?

Abigail Mathers: We loved each other.

Michael De Santa: I'm sure you did.
