Executions

Revision as of 01:40, 18 August 2009 by Grand Theft AJ (talk | contribs) (Lots of little changes, and some big adds)

An Execution is a feature in Grand Theft Auto IV in which a small cutscene plays showing an execution of the person that Niko is killing. Only specific characters can be executed, at specific points in the game. As execution can be performed with a pistol, if the aiming reticule is flashing red while a pistol is equipped and auto-aimed at the target. Each character has a predetermined execution cutscene, and it makes no difference where the player aims (head, chest, leg etc.)

List of Executions

  • Dardan Petrela- An Albanian gangster to whom Roman was in debt. If Niko beats him enough, Dardan will crawl over by a window. After the next hit, a cutscene will show Dardan falling off of the building and into the Humbolt River, weakening the Albanian Mafia.
  • Ivan Bytchkov- A Russian thug. (Optional) If the player chooses to kill him, Niko will stomp on his fingers while he is hanging several stories above ground on a broken fire escape and he will fall off the building onto the street.
  • Vladimir Glebov- A Russian criminal who lied to Roman and Niko to get their assistance. Niko will shoot Vlad in the eye point blank, causing a large amount of blood to spray back. Roman then helps Niko get rid of the body. Vlad's death slightly weakens the Russian Mafia and Faustin Family.
  • Mikhail Faustin- The Hove Beach Russian boss. Niko will shoot him once in the left leg and then once in the torso. Mikhail will stumble back, flip over the edge and land on the sidewalk outside of his own club (Perestroika). Dimitri takes over the Russian Mafia and betrays Niko after Faustin's death.
  • Cherise Glover- A woman that secretly dates Jayvon Simson behind Dwayne Forge's back, much to Forge's dislike. Optional. If the player chooses to kill her, Niko will shoot her square in the face and she will fall back with blood gushing out of the wound. After Cherise's death or survival, Niko hops on a nearby motorbike and chases and kills Glover's boyfriend, Jayvon
  • Clarence Little- A thug in Algonquin. (Optional). If Niko chooses to kill him, he will be cornered on the roof of some projects in Algonquin. If the player chooses to kill Little, Niko fires a bullet through Clarence's head, killing him.
  • Luca Silvestri- A man that stole diamonds from Ray Boccino. Niko corners him in some toilets in Middle Park, Algonquin. Niko shoots Luca in the throat when he's sitting on the toilet causing his body to slip off of the side of the toilet. Niko grabs some diamonds that fall out of Silvestri's hand and gives them to Ray.
  • Aiden O'Malley- Derrick's drinking/crime partner back in the day. Niko and Packie break Aiden out of a prison truck, take him to the cliffs in Leftwood, Alderney where Niko is ordered to kill him. Aiden is shot (with any weapon anywhere on his body) and a cutscene unsues showing Aiden's lifeless body ragdoll down the cliffside into the water. The LCPD and newscast eventually identify the body as Aiden.
  • Darko Brevic- The man that betrayed Niko's military unit many years ago. (Optional). if the player chooses to kill him by the airport runway, Niko shoots 12 angry pistol/desert eagle shots at Darko's torso, one bullet for each of the young men in Niko's fifteen man unit killed by Brevic.
  • Dimitri Rascalov- In the "Revenge" storyline, Niko shoots Dimitri in the knees, making him fall to the ground. Dimitri tries to get back up with the extreme injuries but Niko shoots him square in the face, killing him for good. Dimitri is the main antagonist of GTA IV.
  • Jimmy Pegorino- In the "Revenge" storyline, Niko chases Pegorino to Happiness Island where he corners Jimmy under the Statue. Niko shoots Pegorino many times, destroying his body armor and injuring him heavily. A cutscene shows Pegorino coughing on the ground. Niko uses the last bullet on his AK to finish off Pegorino and escape the island with Jacob and Roman.
  • Isaac Roth- Niko will shoot him in the stomach, making him fall onto the ground quickly and die.
  • Teddy Benavidez- Any weapon will kill Teddy. Whichever weapon the player uses to kill Teddy, he stumbles through some loose bricks on the side of the apartment building and falls to his death into the garden below.
  • Jewish Mob members. In one mission Niko can shoot a petrol tank on a barbaque on the top of the Majestic Hotel setting some Jewish Mobsters on fire, including sending a flamming Jew over the edge to a long distance fall into the back alley below.

Dwayne Forge or Playboy X (the player gets a choice)

  • Playboy X- If Playboy X is chosen instead of Dwayne, Niko corners Playboy at a thin alleyway. Playboy X tries to escape, but the door at the end of the alleyway is locked, and his gun jams. He looks to the sky, and Niko shoots him, the bullet entering under Playboy's chin and exiting from the top of his head.
  • Dwayne Forge- If the player chooses to kill Dwayne instead of Playboy, Niko kills Dwayne's weak right-hand man then turns a corner where Forge turns his back and Niko shoots him in the back of his head.

The Lost and Damned Executions

  • Brian Jeremy- He pleads for his life; Johnny tells him to be a man for once and accept his fate, and then shoots him in the chest.
  • Billy Grey- Johnny hesitates at first, and only fires when Billy lunges at him with a knife, shooting Billy in the chest.

Excecutions Not By Player

  • In the (Deal) ending, Dimitri Rascolov grabs Jimmy Pegorino by the collar, and shoots him in the face during a cutscene.

Notes

  • If the player lets Ivan Bytchkov live, Niko will run into him later during a Random Encounter, Niko will help Ivan get some loaned money back, and Ivan will gladly pay. This is the last time Ivan is seen.
  • If the player lets Cherise Glover live, she will later ask Niko to set her new boyfriend straight in a Random Encounter.
  • If the player lets Clarence Little live, he will show up in a Random Encounter and try to kill Niko, therefore Clarence dies either way.
  • Through storyline conversation it is revealed that Ray Boccino actually didn't want Luca and his boys killed, just the diamonds.
  • Niko will feel better about himself letting Darko live.
  • If the player chooses to execute Darko with a Desert Eagle, Niko will still shoot him 12 times without reloading. (A desert eagle holds only 9 bullets in a clip)
  • If you kill Playboy you get his mansion as a safe house and Dwayne Forge becomes your friend.
  • If you kill Dwayne you get $20,000 and Playboy will never do buisiness with you agian.
