Due to the technical limitations of mobile devices, a number of cosmetic features have been altered or removed. Many of these features were present in the iPhone version of [[GTA Chinatown Wars]]; however, GTA III is a more resource-heavy game, so these features may have been removed to reserve resources for other, more important aspects of the game.

*Similarly to GTA Chinatown Wars, turning on the [[siren]] in an [[:Category:Emergency Vehicles|emergency vehicle]] does not turn on the lightbar, which it does in most GTA games, including the original version of GTA III. Unlike GTA Chinatown Wars however, the siren stops when the player exits the vehicle, which is the usual behaviour in most GTA games with the lightbar continuing to flash.

*Vehicle headlights and brake lights do not function.

*Street lights do not turn on at night. To compensate for the lack of light from street lights and car headlights, it doesn't seem to get as dark in this version.

*Traffic lights do not function. Strangely, vehicles still behave as they would if the lights were operating, stopping for seemingly invisible red lights, and proceeding through the intersection when the cars travelling in the other direction have stopped for an invisible red light.
