Reuniting the Families is a early Los Santos mission in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

Mission Start

The mission starts out with Sweet arranging a meeting of the different "sets" of the Grove Street Families. The different sets have "fallen out" and fight amongst themselves. This has allowed the Ballas to take over Los Santos. Sweet wants to reunite the sets and reassert the Grove Street Families as Los Santos's biggest gang. Sweet asks Carl to drive him, Ryder and Big Smoke from Grove Street to the meet at a hotel in East Los Santos. When they arrive at the hotel, Sweet goes in alone, leaving Carl, Ryder, and Big Smoke waiting in Sweet's Greenwood.

Police Interference

Soon after dropping off Sweet, the Los Santos police department arives en masse to break up the meeting. Carl gets out of the Greenwood and runs into the hotel to try and find Sweet. Ryder and Big Smoke emphatically decline Carl's invitation to follow him, and flee, driving off as more police arrive. Carl has to battle his way through three wings of the hotel filled with police SWAT units equipped with SMG's. Along the way, wounded Grove Street Families members are encountered, as well as prostitutes, who may kiss Carl and restore his health. The player may also purchase Sprunk from a vending machine near the entrance of the hotel to restore health. After Carl finally findsSweet, they both climb onto the roof, only to find a Police Maverick hovering immediatly overhead. Carl shoots the helicoptor down, and follows Sweet down the hotel's fire escape to the back of the hotel.

Getaway

Just as Sweet and Carl reach the street, Ryder and Big Smoke drive up in Sweet's Greenwood, telling Sweet and Carl to jump in the backseat. As Big Smoke drives the Greenwood away, Ryder hands Carl an old AK-47 he got from Emmet, and Carl uses it to shot through the back window at the police, who are pursuing them. Big Smoke drives the car all around East Los Santos in an attempt to lose the police, but has no luck. Meanwhile, Carl shoots at the following Police Cars, HPV-1000's, and Maverick. After a lengthy drive, running through several roadblocks, and other similar obstacles, the AK-47 jamms. At the same time, a policeman jumps off his HPV-1000 and onto the Greenwood! Panicking, Big Smoke drives the Greenwood down a dead end alley. At the other end of the alley, a low flying Maverick is headed towards the Greenwood. Carl begs Big Smoke to back the car out of the alley, but Big Smoke insists, "I'm going through". The Maverick passes just inches overhead, its blades chopping the policeman to bits. However, the Greenwood is going too fast to break before crashing through a billboard at the end of the alley, and plunging several stories to the freeway below. The Greenwood hits a fuel Tanker, and a massive explosion ensues. The police call off their pursuit, thinking Carl, Ryder, Sweet, and Big Smoke are dead.

Conclusion

However, the Grove Street OG's are not dead. They bailed out of the Greenwood moments before the crash, and stand just behind the billboard, overlooking the freeway and the aftermath of the explosion. "That's some shit to tell our grandkids about over a fat joint" Sweet suggests they all immediatly disperse, and Carl, Sweet, Ryder, and Big Smoke split up, and the mission ends.
