Grand Theft Wiki has been hosted on Wikia since 2008. By 2010, many users were unhappy with Wikia's focus on advertising, an increasing amount of interference from Wikia in the operation of this wiki, and Wikia ignoring the community and its opinion. | |||
This dissatisfaction grew up to the release of a new 'Oasis' skin by Wikia. This skin brought a narrow content area, moved many functions to unusable places, and reduced the wiki's individual branding and navigation to being secondary to Wikia's large visible header. This skin was introduced alongside new terms of use, which prevented any adjustments to the skin's design apart from some colours and a background image. Despite a large amount of feedback being given by beta testers, wiki administrators and regular users, Wikia are forging ahead and making the Oasis skin mandatory. | |||
Due to Wikia's ongoing interference and lack of respect towards this wiki's community, a discussion was held on whether to leave Wikia as the host of Grand Theft Wiki.
