Collectibles: Difference between revisions

'''Collectibles''' are items in [[Grand Theft Auto]] games that are required to be collected in order to achieve [[100%]] completion of the game, but are not components of the main storyline.  Rewards are offered for collecting certain numbers of each collectible, and each individual collectible gives a small cash reward once [[Pickup|picked up]].  

=Collectible Types=

Hidden Packages/Packages are collectibles in all [[GTA III Era]] games except [[Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas]] and [[Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories]]. Special rewards are offered for finding certain proportions of the Hidden Packages/Packages, and for finding them all.

Tags are collectibles in [[Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas]], which can only be found in the city of [[Los Santos]]. Each Tag must be sprayed over completely in order to be considered collected. After spraying over a tag, the new tag will read, "Grove 4 life".  Spraying over all Tags increases [[Carl Johnson|Carl's]] [[Respect|gang respect]] and unlocks four [[Weapons|weapon]] spawns at the [[Johnson House]] in [[Grove Street]], [[Ganton]], [[Los Santos]]: the [[AK-47|AK47]], [[Tec-9|Tec-9 Micro-Uzi]], [[Sawn-off Shotgun]], and [[Molotov Cocktail]].

Snapshots are collectibles in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, which can only be found in [[San Fierro]]. They must be photographed using the [[Camera]]. These scenes are marked by a small rotating camera icon which is only seen when viewed through the camera, otherwise they can only be noticed at night (the player will see a strong pinkish light with no apparent source).  The glowing camera icons in the night may be related to the people on the radio station [[WCTR]], claiming that they saw lights in the sky.  This icon must be in the camera's viewfinder for the snapshot to be counted as collected.  The reward for collecting all Snapshots is four weapon spawns becoming available at the [[Doherty Garage]] [[Save Point]] in [[Doherty]], San Fierro: the [[Micro-SMG]], [[Grenades]], [[Sniper Rifle]], and [[Shotgun]].

Horseshoes are collectibles in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, which can only be found in [[Las Venturas]]. They are small collectibles and act as a normal [[pickup]].  Carl's luck increases to 1,000 after collecting all Horseshoes which means that Carl has a 1 out of 1,000 chance to lose in a casino game. The reward for collecting all Horseshoes is four weapons spawn at the [[Four Dragons Casino]] along [[The Strip]], Las Venturas: [[MP5|SMG]], [[Satchel Charges]], [[SPAS 12]], [[AR-15|M4]].

Oysters are collectibles in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. They are always underwater, and require the player to dive in order to collect them. Unlike the other collectibles in GTA San Andreas, these can be found dotted across the [[State of San Andreas|state]]. Acquisition of all Oysters increases Carl's sex appeal.

Red Balloons are collectibles in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. They are similar to the Hidden Packages from the other Grand Theft Auto games, but this time they have to be burst by gunshots, melee attacks, or explosions. There are a total of 99 red balloons and each tenth gives out a reward. This is a reference to the [[1984]] hit song "99 Luftballons" by [[Wikipedia:Nena|Nena]].

Pigeons (flying rats) are collectibles only found in [[Grand Theft Auto IV]]. They are similar to the Red Balloons in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. They need to be shot to count as collected.

Seagulls are collectibles only in [[The Lost and Damned|Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned]]. They are the same as the Pigeons in Grand Theft Auto IV, but they look different.

Hidden Cameras are collectibles in [[Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars]]. They need to be destroyed to count as collected, just like [[pigeons]] and [[seagulls]].

Rampages are are a type of violent side-missions located all around the maps in all [[Grand Theft Auto III]] era games. In these objectives the main character has to do certain kills in under 120 seconds. They show up as skulls.

Unique Jumps/Unique Stunt Jumps/Stunt Jumps are high-speed, long-distance stunts the player must perform in a ground vehicle. Each jump has distinct start and end points, each of which must be hit in order for the jump to be considered complete. These show up in all Grand Theft Auto III era games, except [[Grand Theft Auto Advance]].
