Police Cruisers were originally seen in the first [[Grand Theft Auto V]] trailer with a mere change of livery to match the [[wp:LAPD|Los Angeles Police Department]] and a Vista styled lightbar, replacing the Vector lightbar from GTA IV. Oddly, the car retains its NYPD style pushbar from GTA IV, even though the LAPD only mount pushbars on traffic units.

Since the release of the first trailer, however, the defacto police vehicle in GTA V is indicated to be completely redone. The new design is that of a 1998-2011 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, which was confirmed to be the Police Cruiser thanks to its rear stickers.
