Grand Theft Wiki:FAQs

This list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) is a guide to questions that are often asked about Grand Theft Wiki.

If you have any further questions, please approach a Manager.

How do I write things on this wiki

You can edit most pages by hitting "Edit" in the top-right. Have a look at our Sandbox for a safe page to test on, and see our Help section for further instructions.

How do I become staff

Our staff are the most experienced editors who understand exactly how this wiki works. It is not possible to become staff with fewer than (say) 500 edits here, as you will not understand the ins-and-outs of how this wiki works. Grand Theft Wiki is different to Wikipedia, Wikia and other sites, and the way our staff work is different too. It's not just about organisation of articles, it's everything from how we name images to the details of our policies. We need our staff to be awesome, because we rely on them, and they have a lot of responsibility. If you think you understand this wiki enough to become staff, you should already know how to apply.

What about my right to free speech?

You do have a right to free speech, but this does NOT mean you can say whatever you like wherever you like. You can choose to hold or express any viewpoint you choose, but only in the appropriate avenues. This wiki is not a platform for political viewpoints, personal attacks or advertising. Please see our Behaviour policy.

What if I disagree with the rules or something a staff member does

On Grand Theft Wiki, our staff are always happy to explain their actions. In fact, one of the key responsibilities of our staff is to help users understand what they did wrong and show them how to avoid it in the future. If you disagree with the action of any of our staff members, talk to them first. If you don't get a satisfactory answer, you may speak to a Manager. The Executive Manager can give a final decision, if required.

If you disagree with our rules, we're always happy to discuss and alter them. Like the rest of the wiki, they can always be improved on and are never signed off as 100% finished. Just leave a message on the talk page for the policy page, or speak to a Manager.

What if I don't follow the rules

If you disagree with our rules, or do not intend to follow them, you may leave. Nobody is forcing you to use this site. If you choose to come here and edit this wiki, you need to play by our rules, and if you do, you'll have a great time in this awesome community building an amazing wiki. If you choose not to follow the rules, our staff have the ability to take action and ultimately remove you from the site.
