Ransom is a mission in Grand Theft Auto III. It is automatically triggered following the completion of the S.A.M. mission for Asuka Kasen and is started by protagonist Claude on a construction site in Fort Staunton, Staunton Island, Liberty City.

Mission
Claude enters the construction site's elevator and, after reaching the top floor, finds both Miguel and boss Asuka Kasen lying dead. Claude takes a ransom letter from Catalina from a pole, which Miguel is impaled on, and reads it, walking back to the elevator quickly.
Script
Catalina (letter): I've got your precious Maria. If you don't want her face to look like she fell out with the butcher, bring $500,000 to the Villa at Cedar Grove.
Reward
The reward for "completing" this mission is the unlocking of the game's final storyline mission, The Exchange.
