Staunton Island is the second borough of Liberty City, as seen in Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto Advance and Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories. Commerce is plentiful, as composed mostly of business buildings and weapons can be acquired from two different stores: one selling regular weapons available to many, and the other selling militia-style or army-type weapons available to only soldiers.

There are also residential areas in the island such as Newport, Belleville Park and Fort Staunton (only in 1998, as in GTA III is a construction). Staunton Island is also, up until 1998, the home of at least two Mafia families: the Sindaccos and the Forellis. Staunton Island has its very own Yakuza-owned casino.

Districts

Staunton Island includes landmarks based on the real landmarks of Manhattan, although the name is based in Staten Island consisting of a high-rise downtown in the southern part, a high-rise Midtown in the Center and a much smaller skyline in the northern part or more of the Uptown. Staunton Island consists of eight districts.

Downtown Staunton

Downtown Staunton is the skyscraper area located south of Staunton Island.

Midtown Staunton

Midtown Staunton is the central area of Staunton Island.

Uptown Staunton

Uptown Staunton is the area north of Staunton Island, composed mostly of apartments.

Landmarks

Some landmarks that exist in Staunton Island to Manhattan are:

The Empire State Building makes an appearance known as the Unnamed Empire State Building equivalent (GTA III). Located in border of Bedford Point, is considered the second largest building in the city, basing on the shape of an obelisk and not that of their counterparts in real life
The New York City Hall makes an appearance known as the Town Hall. Located of southern in Belleville Park.
The 500 Fifth Avenue makes an appearance known as the 366.
The Flatiron Building appears as three replicas in Belleville Park and Newport, of which the best known is Rise FM Headquarters, owned radio station Rise FM.
The Columbia University makes an appearance known as the Liberty Campus.
The Riverside Park makes an appearance known as the Aspatria West park.
The St. Patrick's Cathedral makes an appearance know as the Liberty City Cathedral. Probably the only cathedral in which it is based, although smaller and features a little different.
The Franklin D. Roosevelt East River Drive makes appearance know as the Aspatria - Bedford Point Expressway. The expressway passes through the districts of Aspatria, Belleville Park and Bedford Point, the expressway has a slightly different model of its counterpart.

But there are other benchmarks that will echo elsewhere in USA, as:

The towers of Marina City in Chicago, makes an appearance know as the Lips 106 Headquarters in Belleville Park.
The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, makes an apparance know as the Liberty Memorial Coliseum. Although the Liberty Memorial Coliseum has similarities to Yankee Stadium, it seems much more to Los Angeles, both the name and form and inaugurated the year.

Staunton Island is full of some businesses on the island, some based on real life, as:

Ammu-Nation.
Bolt Burgers.
Didier Sachs: is based upon the real-life Dolce & Gabbana.
Kevin Clone: is a parody of Calvin Klein.
Liberty Tree: based on the real life of The New York Times, the headquarters is located on Bedford Point.
Ranch.
Sumo: is an electronics company relied heavily of Sony.
TUBE: is a parody of the Subway restaurant.
Zip: is based on the Gap clothing store.
