The Exchange is the last storyline mission in Grand Theft Auto III taken from Catalina by protagonist Claude.
Plot
Catalina recently killed Asuka Kasen and kidnapped Maria. She now wants Claude to bring $500,000 to the Cartel Mansion in Cedar Grove in exchange for not having Maria dead. Claude arrives at the mansion and hands over the money to Catalina, who lies and walks off with the money leaving Claude in the mercy of her Colombian Cartel men.
Claude, having no choice, is put under gunpoint by a Cartel gang member and decides to punch him and take the Pistol dropped. After being shot at, he gets a car and exits the mansion only to find a helicopter hovering above him which contains both Catalina and Maria. Claude follows the helicopter all the way to the base of Cochrane Dam and kills every Cartel goon on his way.
After coming halfway and nearly closing into the helicopter, Catalina drops off Maria at the loading bay, guarded by a couple of her men and enters her helicopter. She begins to drop missiles to the ground while Claude gets to Maria, kills all the Cartel men and picks up a Rocket Launcher to shoot down Catalina. He successfully manages to destroy the Helicopter that crashes against the dam in the water, and along with Maria walks all the way through the dam.
While the credits are rolling on the screen Maria can be heard talking right before a gunshot, after which, she remains silent and is no longer heard. The news also report the crime scene with witness Clive Denver.
Tips
There are two parts in this mission. The first one is to escape from the mansion. Run quickly to the nearby car, reverse next to the house and wait. One Colombian Cartel man will follow you, but you can run him over with your car and kill him. You can take his weapon. Next, run over the two door-men. Take their weapons two. Even if your car blows up. you can still run back to the garage, next to the mansion. Take the shield and then take a car and drive outside.
You do not have to follow the helicopter, it will go to Cochrane Dam. So you go left from the mansion, up the hill and drive through the road that passes behind the mansion. This road takes you straight to Cochrane Dam. Go close to the gate and then reverse back. The two guards will try to follow you. You can run the over with your car easily. Then go into the dam. Before the other guards, to your right, in the plants there is a sniper rifle. Use it to shoot as many guards as you can from where you stand. Then, run and pick up their weapons, especially the mini-guns. Proceed with caution and take one after the other all the guards. When Catalina says "Get this thing airborne!" turn around and shoot the vehicle that comes towards you, before it gets too close. Go up the stairs slowly and before you enter the roof, shoot the guards near Maria. Then run for the Rocket Launcher to shoot down the helicopter.
Alternatively, you can use Rays bulletproof vehicle to enter the dam and run over all the Colombian Cartel men, up to the stairs.
