Hi. I just wanted to pop in and say I'm sorry for messing a few articles up recently...I'll abide by the rules in the future. --Synthetic Socks 23:13, 10 March 2007 (UTC)Reply[reply]

My apology just in case...

I would like to apologize, if any, for my edits to those unsourced information that were added by this user just in case. I'm a stickler for better organization, grammar, and spelling so I'm simply doing a service for others, even in this case. ;D --Legion 02:02, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

Houston, we have a problem....

Those vandalized articles you mentioned at Thai420's user talk page... I categorized them as candidate for deletion. Now another user with IP, though different from that of vandal but I don't know if this is same guy or not... *shrugs*, came and undone those action I took. I had to revert them. Now this user undone it again. I already left him/her a message asking him to refrain from blanking them out.... :/ --Legion 13:58, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

hi, I made this logo, no idea if you like it, but I thought it would work well to replace your current wiki logo . anyway, cheers! -- Olipro 14:32, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

I have to say, I like the new logo better than the old one. But don't you think you should add a GTA IV screenshot to have every GTA 3D title covered? And it appears that this Wiki is all about San Andreas with the SA font. I think you should use another one but I don't know what the others think. And just one thing: The woman in the lower left-hand corner isn't that important to include it on a logo for a video game where much more important characters are in (add Tommy, Toni, Vic or Niko e.g.) Zaibatsu 16:19, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Cleanup of Merged Articles

Hey - thanks for helping out at this critical point of the merge of the two wikis. I'd just like to point out that merging the content of the two pages is preferable to just deleting the one at Project:Merge. If we slap the two pages together then get rid of the duplicate then we can strip it down into a single good article slowly. Not complaining, just asking you to make sure you dont get rid of anything we might want to keep. Thanks again - Gboyers (?) 00:24, 24 December 2007 (UTC) (previously User:Xenon)

¿GTA Revolution + GTA Wikis?

Thanks for contact with us. We have apologised for have been late so much in answering your request. We are interested in the affiliation, but before we want to know how you want to do it and what you are looking from us.

If you find more useful, you can contact with me by my personal mail, cubanvercetti@gmail.com . We are ready to attend to any proposition.

Sincerely, --_CuBaN_VeRcEttI_ 20:02, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

I'd like to hear what GTA Revolution can offer GTW that we don't already have. We have a massive databank of information and images, and most GTA screenshots fall under Rockstar's copyright rather than the person who took it. We already have every logo and boxart that we need. GTAR doesn't have any information/lists up about GTA IV yet, and I don't see anything to do with the other games that we don't already have, and the language barrier would make content sharing difficult.
I'm not saying no, I'm just asking how we would benefit. I am very much open to the idea of affiliation - our relationship with The GTA Place was instrumental in getting GTW off the ground, and the pre-merge relationship between Grand Theft Wiki and the old en.gta.wikia.com was equally useful. What can GTARevolution bring to the table? Gboyers (?) 23:35, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

If it's just a collection of screenshots, we may as well take them ourselves. We have dozens of active members who own each GTA game, and I expect a large number will own GTA IV very shortly. Normal screenshots are free to re-use anyway, as they fall under Rockstar's copyright (not the person who took the screenshot). Other sites can re-use our screenshots the same as we can re-use theirs, without the need for a partnership. Special artistic screenshots or ones showing copyrighted things will require permission. Only if we have a massive shortage of images, then we can look for a partnership like this, I simply don't think we would benefit from it at all.
One good thing to do would be to make a category and template for pages without images, then we can start actively finding images and taking screenshots to fill the void. Gboyers (?) 12:34, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

I'm not saying not ever, I just haven't seen a good reason to affiliate yet. Images is pointless because we can share them anyway (our licence lets them use our images and text so long as they say where it came from). It would perhaps be more useful for ES: to have an affiliation with a Spanish site. Walkthroughs and lists are more what we would be wanting to obtain from other sites. You're our 2nd heaviest-contributing member, what do you think? Gboyers (?) 14:18, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Hey. At last they got round to merging your GTW user account (User:GTW-A-Dust) into this one, which means you now show up as having more edits than me ... You can merge your old user page with your real one, then we can redirect your old pages to your real ones. Hello and question

Hi, A-Dust. I've been editing here for a small while, and have noticed and admired your contributions. I would like to ask you a question, if I may: how were the Stationary Vehicles determined in the Doherty article? I am trying to expand the Calton Heights article (a current pet project), and was wondering what constitutes a stationary vehicle, since the vehicle types seem to change in every spawn point. Are there some that never vary, and if so, how do I find out which ones without periodically checking every spawn point? EganioTalk 09:53, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the congrats! Let's hope I keep up my (hopefully) good work so I can move from probationary to full sysop! Anyway, thanks very much for the suggestions...I will check them out. Along those lines, I think I found an Elegy in Calton Heights that always seems to spawn as such, but I will verify with the sites you suggested. Thanks again, and happy editing! :-) EganioTalk 22:57, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

Alphabetizing for Category pages

Thanks for fixing that... I'll remember that for future reference. --GuildKnightTalk2me 01:59, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Mission Footer Template

By the way, dear, will you look at Template:Mission Footer for me; I can't figure out why it's got the white square... Thanks bunches! --GuildKnightTalk2me 03:02, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

I've had a look at the template, but can't find out why the white box is on the template. I shall leave a message on Gboyers discussion page, as he'd probably have a better idea of how to fix it. A-Dust 10:28, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
There's no white square for me, it shows up fine in Firefox and IE7. Make sure you purged the template and the page its on, and hard refresh your browser. Perhaps take a screenshot to outline what you mean, cos there is a small gap on the right where the width isn't quite 100%. Gboyers talk 12:28, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
The white box is appearing on the left hand side of the template (where it says Prev: None). It may only appear on certain browsers, but I can't get it to appear as it should do. A-Dust 13:01, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
After some experimentation, I figured out that it's not there when I sign out... I remember a similar situation on UESP, and I think they needed to purge the page. Now, if I could just remember how to purge the bloody page, I could see if that fixes it! --GuildKnightTalk2me 23:51, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Here's a screenshot showing what's wrong.

Should be fixed now. You were using a second table with class "hiddentable" (for no apparent reason) which has a white background. I just removed the second table, to make the left identical to the right. Hard refresh (Ctrl+F5) to see the changes - Gboyers talk 00:30, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
Merci beaucoup. :) --GuildKnightTalk2me 01:23, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

Changes Reverted

Hey, I was wondering why you reverted the changes I made to several of the character pages? Each of these pages included information about the character that was not available until later in the storyline and many of them were spoilers. These pages contained no spoiler tags of any kind, so I added them. I feel that it was unfair to remove these tags, especially since I came across story plotlines that I have not yet reached in game. --Gebsy 20:12, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

De-categorization

Hi, A-Dust. May I ask why you removed the categorizations I had recently added to articles such as Zombotech Corporation? I am a little confused with how we are categorizing such things anyway, but as I understand from what is listed at the top of Category:Locations, things like this should be subsumed into Category:Locations in GTA San Andreas. Do you have a different understanding? If so, please enlighten me!  :-) EganioTalk 20:55, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

Hmmm, OK, I see your point, but it says clearly at the top of Category:Locations that, "All places of interest (buildings, companies, checkpoints) should go in the games category (eg Category:Locations in GTA San Andreas)." This is why I am confused...how were these things decided upon, by whom, and is it possible to discuss them for more clarity? As it stands, it seems like numerous interpretations are possible. EganioTalk 21:03, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
Could we then make a new category called "Businesses in San Fierro" and put it to categories San Fierro and Businesses? AND could we use only one user page to discussions. --Tsukaji 21:05, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
Let's discuss this here, shall we? :-) EganioTalk 21:07, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

Liberty City categories/articles

Heya. No, I can't see anything wrong per se. My only advice would be maybe trying to categorize by game instead of by city, then game, e.g. creating Category:Subway Stations in GTA IV, which would then fall under Category:Subway Stations and Category:GTA IV. Things that are common to more than one game will then just have multiple categorizations. What do you think? EganioTalk 21:12, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

When you specify which game, simply say "in GTA IV", rather than "(IV)". So Category:Bridges in Liberty City (IV) should be Category:Bridges in Liberty City in GTA IV. This is consistent with all our page namings (Liberty City in GTA IV not Liberty City (IV)). However, since this is a bit long, we could instead use Category:Bridges in GTA IV. The bot is going to do some category renaming over the next few days, so don't worry if things don't match up straightaway. Gboyers talk 23:10, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

Hello again, I see on the Protagonist page that the protagonists are the same in London 1961 and 1969. Not sure if that means they are canon or anything...
P.S. I wasn't very clear with the original post, I know that they are in a different 'game universe' to GTA III Era games, I was wondering if they are connected to each other.
P.S. That wasn't meant to sound rude if it does sound rude at all! MoNK 19:26, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

Karen/Michelle

Hi. I've had to protect Karen and Michelle Stone for 1 month because of the "edit war" that has been going on. Looking at the history of the Karen article, you (correctly) reverted KalypsoSig's massive spoiler warning three times. However, you did not provide an explanation in the edit summary, talk page or on his user talk page. KalypsoSig obviously did not understand why you undid his edits, and this should have been explained to him. Yes, he did have the plot spoiled by the content of the Michelle page, but that has been prevented from happening again by separating the two pages. In future, if anyone un-does an admins edits, or the 3-Revert Rule is broken, then at the very least talk to the user. This is partially why edit summaries are so important. You were definitely right to revert, but it just needs explaining to stop people un-doing your edits, thats all. Gboyers talk 03:57, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

Your opinion please...

Hi, A-Dust. The discussion regarding the Karen and Michelle Stone articles, and the spolier issue therewith, has resumed. Would you stop by and add your opinion when you get a chance? I'd greatly appreciate it. So far, it seems like we've got opposing opinions going on in there, and I was hoping other admin perspectives might help. Besides, you were a part of the discussion earlier, so I think your perspective would help us out quite a bit. Thanks! :-) EganioTalk 09:06, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

Character Templates

Hi, A-Dust. Here's a little trick Gboyers taught me for making sure the character templates always float to the bottom of the page: add the code <br clear="both"> to the line between the text and the {{character template}} line, and this will force a break between the text/image and the template so they're not running into each other. Check out my recent edit on the Eddie Pulaski article for example. Just an FYI, as I have noticed you working a lot with characters. :-) EganioTalk 20:55, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

Walkthroughs

Just a comment on something you said on Grand Theft Wiki talk:Featured content. You said that all mission walkthroughs should be moved to missionname/walkthough, but this is incorrect. A small-to-medium sized walkthrough is fine for the mission page, like on It's Your Call. Most of the time, that is all that needs to go onto a mission page. But if there is more than one walkthrough, or a really long one, then it is better to put them on sub-pages rather than have a massive mission page. I hope that's a bit clearer. Links within Script

Hi, A-Dust. I noticed you added the links I removed from the script on the mission Cam-Pain. I thought having links within the script looks a little messy and detracts from the in-universe perspective, but you seem to disagree. Has there been a discussion regarding this matter? Personally, I think links should be used only in text that has been created by a GTW editor to describe something pertaining to a GTA game, but not in actual game dialogue or in-game text. Thoughts? EganioTalk 16:59, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

It's not my discussion, but I have to agree with Eganio. I quoted my own real life friend when I was talking to Eganio, and even then I was weary about putting links in it. I have seen the other end of this discussion on Eganio's user talk page, and I do see your point, but I still don't know 100% if I agree with that. Hi, now I know for the future that my reason for wanting to delete the Wok and Iron article is not a good reason, Thanks for saying that, every bit I learn helps me help this wiki better. Main Page rename

Since you seem to be the most active admin, I wanted to let you that I just renamed the Main Page to Grand Theft Auto Wiki. I've been assigned with stopping by all the top gaming wikis and making sure their main page is named (Game Name) Wiki instead of Main Page, for search engine optimization purposes. If you admins decide you don't want the keep the new main page name, you obviously have the right to revert, but I would strongly suggest keeping it so that even more people will find this wiki. Hi, now that I have taken a break from it (I forgot about it), I can actually see your point in everything you said on my perfect mission talk page. I have done everything except for merge the walkthrough and brief. In this case they are very similar, but this is meant to be a guide for writing mission articles, and most mission articles on the wiki DO have a brief. Thanks for the input! Inactive Staff

Hey - just a quick note to say that it's not really an admin/sysops job to determine when a staff member has become inactive enough to be moved out of the main staff lists. The inactive staff are ones who haven't got in contact and (as far as we know) aren't coming back. Other staff may just be away for a while and planning on returning, so we'd keep listing them as active for a while. The thing is that they may have got in contact with me and you may not realise when de-listing. However, this time you happen to be right, both those moves were correct, so no harm done. I may move GuildKnight to the inactive staff list too, but I'll do a few more checks before that happens. Thanks for pointing that out though, did need to happen! - Gboyers talk 03:25, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

Could you have a look at the promotion pages and leave a comment? I'd just like to know what you think of all 3 candidates before I decide whether or not to promote the 3rd. Gboyers talk 18:51, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

GTA IV Characters

Recently I've tried to spend more time expanding the wiki, instead of just maintaining it. So I will do a bit of character work. Firstly, by "mentioned online", did you mean the real world Internet or the in-game Internet? Secondly, how minor does a character need to be before being just a mention on another article, rather than have their own article? An example of that (but don't answer just by answering the example, because they get more minor than this), you mentioned Weazel News. I've noticed that Mike Whitley, the main reporter of the radio news, doesn't have his own article, nor is he mentioned on the WN page. He doesn't actually "appear" in the game (just his voice), so which one should it be? Biggest GTA Fan EverTalk 09:05, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

Just letting you know that I haven't forgotten about the characters. I have a couple of screenshots I want to take in GTA IV so while I'm doing that I will go online, and keep an eye/ear out for people mentioned on signs, radio etc. I don't know much of what's on the in-game Internet because I think that the Internet/TV are the two most useless features in any GTA game ever, and that with the disk space that R* used for them, they could have made the city bigger or the story longer. Anyway, I will do that soon! Biggest GTA Fan EverTalk 09:50, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

Marco Forelli

Hi,

I was wondering, why did you delete the Marco Forelli page? There was already given proof and i don't see why you had to go and delete it.

Unless you haven't listened to em' yet, then here's a link to the Video. I found audio files of CJ threatning Marco and calling him by his name:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFzsI8XH-Q4&feature=channel_page --Sean93 09:04, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

Yes, but these Audio files we're in the San Andreas SFX script, i had to use SAAT just to find them. The Audio files aren't fake, they just weren't used in the final version of SA. Unless R* says otherwise, the Forelli that CJ killed is Marco. --Sean93 22:29, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

Until Rockstar says otherwise, the man is unnamed. The name was cut from the final version of the game, so they wanted the character un-named. Otherwise, they would have left the dialogue in. A-Dust 22:37, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

It's still worth mentioning somewhere. --Sean93 23:39, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

I formatted it to wikia standards, and now it just looks juvenile. Have fun with your kindergarten mentality, loser. -Sec_1971 21:42, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

A-Dust. The first thing I would like to say is that whilst the wiki has changed quite a bit, there are a number of things that haven't changed - you and I are the best examples of that. Your knowledge of the intricacies of this wiki and its content is unparalleled, and I will continue to stand by you. I won't let a couple of informal complaints about you reverting edits make you leave. Yes, I think you should be using discussion pages a little more, since many people will be unfamiliar with the reasons for your (valid) reverts. But nothing more serious than that. Stick around - Gboyers talk 01:41, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

Can you tell me how did you made the picture of the mafia sentinel?? Thx, --DT-boy 08:49, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

What are you talking about i never promoted an article to featured status. --Sean93 15:59, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Actually if you look here, you added the {{featured}} template at the top, although this was probably by accident (when you copied the {{infobox city}} code) - Gboyers talk 17:27, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

And why did you deleted them and removed from article?

Hakumai?

What happened to the Hakumai page? Its been deleted, can you restore it? --Thescarydude 23:50, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

I have restored this page. Not sure why it was deleted in the first place? Our staff should remember to leave a summary or talk page comment when deleting. Gboyers talk 00:00, 27 February 2009 (UTC) EDIT: If you look at Special:Log/delete, it seems A-Dust was deleting lots of images, and presumably accidentally deleted this article whilst doing that. No harm done, so thanks for pointing it out quickly! Gboyers talk 00:06, 27 February 2009 (UTC)
Sorry that I deleted the page Hakumai, which was by accident. I was deleting unused images, and must have deleted the article instead, whilst checking there was a better image on the article. Cheers for bringing this up, and to GB for restoring the article. A-Dust 00:24, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Hey. Thanks for helping to clean up some of the articles that User:Gsf4l has made over the past couple of days. I have asked him to take care when editing but I don't think there is going to be any significant change (he DOES use capital letters now). Is there any way we can help his edits without running around after them every time he makes one? Cheers. --Aussiebushmatt 18:44, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

Hey Matt. Your welcome for the Little Italy page. I just don't see how Bringing Down the House is the climax of Liberty City Stories. I always say the Sicilian Gambit as the climax.

I was wondering if you could help me with something. I'm currently making a page on GTA Antagonists. I wanted you to tell me the main antagonists for all the games up to GTA III, I could take it from there.--Dimitri1994 18:47, 20 March 2009 (UTC)Dimitri1994

Weapons in GTA IV

I'm curious: Why remove the links from this page? The weapon locations is a critical element of the weapon page, and since this page doesn't contain them, linking the weapons themselves makes it more functional. Lem 18:04, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

Updated the page with bullet point links (get it?). I also dropped in a few redirects that properly redirect GTA IV names to weapons, e.g. Combat Pistol. Lem 02:09, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

Great Wiki

Hey I just wanted to stop by and say how great of a wiki I think you guys got here. In all honesty I also would like to ask something. Perhaps we could discuss the issue of including Claude Speed in the article. What seems to bother you with his inclusion? - ZS 16:26, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

That is certainly agreeable, but it's not a question of whether he is the same character, but rather what traits from this character were brought over to the other Claude. Both renditions' similar outfits and first names may not be solid evidence of both characters being one, but it does indicate DMA (Rockstar North) may have simply reused elements from Claude Speed when molding GTA III's Claude, hence the mention. - ZS 16:42, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

Sorry

Yes sorry if I do some things wrong around here, I am quite new to the Wiki. I speak English fluently, it being my primary language and all, as a consequence, alot of my edits will be simply grammar and spelling-based. I don't know how to do alot of things, as posting on this talk page I might even be doing wrong lol. I am rather new, as i've said, but I do try to be on here atleast once a week, as it's a good community and contributing seems like the right thing to do :P

Also, could somebody tell me how to add a signature to the end of my talk posts, like everyone else on here has ,':|

Edit: Also if you would like to get into easier contact with me, say for instance to tell me how to do things lol, i'd happily post my MSN address here, (if that's allowed by the rules, i'm not sure), as I don't mind if i get random adds.

Hi Daniel! No youre absolutely right to post on a staff member's talk page like this. And nice job on your edits so far, they seem to be pretty useful, so keep up the good work. To sign your name, simply use four tildas, like ~~~~. You can edit your signature in your Preferences. Always do this on talk pages (but not actual articles). As for your MSN address, your personal user page is probably the best page for that. If you want, you can switch between a social profile (like yours) and a wiki profile (like mine) by going to Special:ToggleUserPage. Hope that helps. Gboyers talk 03:44, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

Ok, i've taken your advice, and have chosen to change to a Wiki user page, thankyou very much for that, but could I ask how to actually add things to it? Also, at the end of editing a page, I usually fly through and, consequently, forget to leave a summary of my edit, is this a major problem, or should I just be careful to not forget it so much? =P Thankyou for all your help, and I hope my 'noobiness' (lol) doesn't eat up too much of your time. Ess-Tee 16:03, 23 April 2009 (UTC)

Whether you have a wiki user page or a social profile is entirely your choice - I wasn't recommending one over the other. If you have a wiki user page, you can just click edit and add whatever you want. If you have a social profile, the details are filled in from the options. Edit summaries are useful, especially when the reason for your edit is not obvious. So if you're rearranging a page, removing text or a picture, or doing anything that someone else might be confused about, then you should put a summary. If you can do one for every edit, that's great, but not always required. And I'm happy to lend my time to people who ask nicely :) Gboyers talk 18:24, 23 April 2009 (UTC)

Cleanup Project

Hi A-Dust. As part of our first Cleanup Project, I have assigned some tasks to staff members. This way, all the tasks get done, not just the obvious ones. Could you have a go at the WantedPages and try and fix as many red-links as possible? This may consist of fixing a spelling mistake, adding a redirect, or creating some new pages. I don't expect you to be able to create all of these pages, so if you could concentrate on fixing the ones that can be fixed (eg spelling mistakes, wrong names for pages), that would be great. Just ask if you have any questions, or read the project page. Thanks - Gboyers talk 20:06, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

Sorry Matt, I hadn't seen that notice. You've been our biggest contributor to this wiki, and I'm disappointed that you aren't a fan of it anymore, but I respect your right to come and go as you please. The changes are annoying, especially when we aren't consulted, and when we don't have a choice. I always wondered why you never really got involved in the 'management' of the wiki, and I never understood how you manage to make thousands of edits, but I'm grateful for what you've done, and you will always be welcome here. I would say 'keep up the good work', but that's your choice. Good luck with your university work too. Gboyers talk 00:44, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

Why'd you undo the thing i did in the forum? There's nothing left to discuss if it's actually Liberty City. Is there a better way to get rid of the topic or what? SuperTron500 12:08, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Why sign my topic with four tildes? What does that even mean? Also, why should the topic stay up just so people can leave smug remarks? I removed it to bare fruit from not having to deal with that. --SuperTron500 12:14, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
Then the topic stays, obviously. But i doubt any intelligent discussion will come of it. I'm afraid i can't comply with your "sign your posts with four tidles" thing because i still don't know what you mean. I always use the button at the top to sign my posts, and i have no intention of writting it out if that's what you mean. SuperTron500 12:21, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

GTA IV

Have you played GTA IV and/or found any children within the game? I'm certain some of the short pedestrians in backpacks are minors but i'm looking to get it confirmed. User_talk: SuperTron500

So we're just to assume all the short backpacked characters are 18 and over? I guess that's a stretch, but if that's how Rockstar wants it i'll "believe" them. Would you mind describing to me some things you don't like about the game? I'd like your opinion in regards to it. User_talk: SuperTron500
Whatever, get snippy if you want, like Spaceeinstein. I bet you talk nice to him. I never said what i believe matters, i was just trying to be casual and break some ice. I guess you not liking the game doesn't mean anything, it probably just doesn't suit your tastes. I'm not taking special time out to sign my posts special for you anymore, either. Thanks though SuperTron500 12:47, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
What argument? Your opinion is irrelevant too, as is everyone's, apparently. Also, notice how i never mentioned tidles in my last message? No, obviously you didn't because you added i "didn't do it anyway". I added an open way to access my talk page and that was good enough. Your asking me to use tidles didn't make sense because when i tried it, it created the same effect of a non-clickable name. By not signing my posts special all i mean is i'm not going to type out a way to get to my talk page anymore. SuperTron500 12:57, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
So your knowlege is correct. Your opinion is still no more relevant than mine. I never made a reference to my using tidles because i don't fully understand what they even are, i simply said i made it special, i just typed User_talk: SuperTron500, it's as simple as that. Perhaps that's using tidles and i didn't realize it or something. I'll always use that whenever i'm dealing with a user who doesn't respond on their own talk page from now on, so at least something positive came from that. And for that i really have to thank you. SuperTron500 14:21, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Consistency

Good to see you back! Whilst I see your point to Grand Theft AJ regarding consistency, I'm not sure that we need to sit and rename images (there are more useful things to do). Images tend not to be re-used, so their name is not massively important, so long as it isn't misleading or misspelt. Categories are a better way to find an image, and if you want to find (say) a pic of a certain vehicle in a certain game, then it's going to be in the gallery on that vehicle's page, rather than trying to guess its filename. What benefit do you see from consistently-named images (apart from consistency for the sake of it)? If there is one, then by all means go for it, I'm just a little unsure atm. Gboyers talk 02:12, December 2, 2009 (UTC)

That works for me. And of course it's great to see our heaviest contributor back. Hopefully the next GTA will bring back the fun element that maybe has been dumped a little in favour of realism. Gboyers talk 02:31, December 2, 2009 (UTC)

New staff would probably be a good idea - I'll look into it. As for edit count, there are 7,000 for me and 2,000 for gtabot, so lagging behind quite a bit. Keep it up! Gboyers talk 02:44, December 2, 2009 (UTC)

You may also be interested to know how well GTW is doing as a whole. In November we had 6 million page views, 300 thousand visitors, and 500 thousand visits. Not shabby at all. Gboyers talk 02:47, December 2, 2009 (UTC)

There are two things here. The completely pointless Special:MyHome can be turned off in user preferences, and you can go to Special:ToggleUserPage to turn your profile back into a normal wiki page (like mine). This is all per-person, but we could talk to wikia about disabling the features altogether. You'll notice that our URLs have changed to be simpler, which I like - http://gta.wikia.com/Cheetah (used to have /wiki/ in the middle). Gboyers talk 02:59, December 2, 2009 (UTC)

Clocktower

I'm new to wikis and to this wiki, but why did you remove the real-life picture of the clocktower building? Should I upload a different one?

Missions in GTA Vice City

You should agree with me that a mission in any GTA game is a mission. So why do you automatically revert all edits about that category ? Why ?

I agree, Im sure that you have a good reason for it, but it took a long time for me to add them all and it is a relevent category. I would appreciate if you didn't revert anymore. I hope that you understand, I am adding the Mission category again. If you look at the category then you will see that there are many missions in there already that I didn't add. If you revert again then I will not change it back (I don't want to start an edit war). But I would appreciate it if you recognised a mission as a mission (or we wouldn't have the Missions in (game name) category would we?) Thanks. Chimpso 06:42, December 19, 2009 (UTC)

EDIT: Whoops! I saw your reply on Loadingue's talk page. I understand now, sorry! I will try to remove the Mission category whenever I can. But I still think that we should keep the category itself as it lists the Missions in (Game Name) as sub-categorys. Once again sorry!

Images

I need to ask you, why did you delete my images of the Bitch 'n' Dog Food cans?--Gta-mysteries 02:54, December 21, 2009 (UTC)

Hi A-Dust, great job with this wiki! I was just wondering why you reverted my edit to this page? I had changed the link to janitors (which ceased to exist as of last year) to a link to VSTF (which is a new global group for Wikia). Thanks! Joey (talk) 22:53, December 22, 2009 (UTC)

Hi I just joined this GTA wiki and I wanted to know how to add a Gripe to the mechanics gripes but I just dont seem to understand how to,I dont see any "Add Gripe" button or anything. Could you help?

deleted pictures

Sorry, I am a new guy and I am not so good in English. So I whant to now why my pictures was deleted from Candy Suxxx gallery. What I've done wrong. Or maybe it's only for official arts...?

Dust, Mad Doggs managers name isnt Alan Crawford. If you payed attention to san andreas you'd know that its Scipio.

Ranson (GTA III)

There is no such page, and since it should be considered part of S.A.M. the info should be written there.

inapropriate user name

a user has created an acout that is innapropriate Hudafuck

Boo fucking hoo, ya pussy. This is a site dedicated to one of the most violent and innapropriate games so I think we should be aloud to have such content. This may be a wiki, but quick acting so stuck up. You're acting like those faggots who work at the Majestic Hotel

Ransom

True, but the difference between Ransom and Bomb Da Base Act 1 and No Money Mo Problems, is that it is Automatically seen During S.A.M., you can't not see Ransom after S.A.M., Bomb Da Base Act 1 is only a cutscene, like Fish In A Barrel, No Money, Mo' Problem leads up to something, so it isn't only a cutscene.

Ransom

It should, who deleted Ranson's article anyways?

Bosses Category

It's just for antagonists, not for missions givers. So Little Jacob, Roman Bellic, Manny Escuela and Derrick McReary aren't in this category.

WTF

Do you "high and mighty" moderators have fun in deleting people's hard work?

"Firstly", this is about Grand Theft Auto. Nothing civil about it. "Secondly", I'm referring to The Mr. Bellic article. Give one reason to delete that. "Thirdly", oh, I'm sorry. I suppose I shoud "put down my signature". MrNaku45 02:50, January 7, 2010 (UTC)

Sigh. It's a Wiki ABOUT GTA. Rockstar did not make violent games so that people could walk along, make a wiki about it, and act "civil". And if my article had no need, why should Mr. Lopez, or Miclia Bellic's articles matter? Exactly. MrNaku45 03:00, January 7, 2010 (UTC)

Victor Vance Discussion goes on...

Hey A-Dust, can I make a request that the page Talk:Victor Vance be protected or the discussions moved to a different page? Despite that fact that Rockstar Games confirmed Vic's death people are still debating over it. I think it would be a good Idea to protect the page for a while (or at least until this discussion wears off). Chimpso 03:43, January 9, 2010 (UTC)

Ok then. Thanks for telling me. Chimpso 23:32, January 9, 2010 (UTC)

Profile editing

hey i was wobndering i see people who have images of there favourite cars, games, and nationalities on there. How do i do that on my own page?

GTA3 mission images

I have two comments on the recent images.

  1. It would be helpful to crank down the brightness to the middle mark through the graphics options, because the screenshots lack any shading.
  2. Is the screenshot naming format a little too vague?

Talk page deletion

Why the hell do you keep deleting discussion pages on various articles? You stupid?

It looks like Talk:Knife was correct to have been deleted, as gameplay discussions should go in the Forum not the article's discussion page. However, it would be good if you left a better edit summary on most of your deletions, as the reasons for some of them are not as obvious as they may be to you. Also some articles such as Sea Dragon are linked to, so be careful not just to create loads of red links (for someone else to try and make the page again later). Remember, deletion is an administrative tool not really a right, so when it's not completely obvious (ie spam) you need to be careful to make it obvious (just add "duplicate" or "unnecessary" or "doesnt belong here").
But with images, I'm not so sure it's that simple. Some are of course useless, duplicated or just plain crap - but when we have images that we don't necessarily need, perhaps we should keep them to allow them to be used later? When I write articles, I look for images rather than take them myself, so only having the bare-minimum images on this site doesn't help. Special:UnusedFiles is a good place I look. Also it doesn't hurt to have a few extra pics in a vehicle gallery (or even a whole gallery subpage?). What do you think? Gboyers talk 00:57, February 23, 2010 (UTC)
