Auntie Poulet is a character in the Grand Theft Auto series who appears as a supporting character in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (set in 1986). She is the leader of the Haitians gang and is heavily involved in the drugs trade. She is voiced by Youree Dell Cleomili Harris, a famous phone psychic better known as "Miss Cleo".

Character history

Auntie Poulet is the elderly matriarch and leader of the Haitians, a drug dealing gang in Little Haiti, Vice City that arrived a year or two before the beginning of the game. They are in a gang war with the Cubans in nearby Little Havana.

Earlier in the game, the Haitian gang attempts to kill Ricardo Diaz while he and the Cubans negotiate a drug deal, and her men are killed by Tommy Vercetti and Lance Vance.

While Tommy continued assisting the Cubans, Auntie Poulet somehow gets his cell phone number and calls to request his help (she later claims her "grand daddy" told her about him, but this seems far-fetched for a woman of her age). When Tommy shows up to the house, he is [[1]] with an unknown drug and is manipulated by Poulet to do missions for her.

Tommy takes in the drug(s) in liquid form and by smell (which does not effect Poulet for some reason). While under the influence his speech is slurred, he cannot logically asses why he is doing the tasks and doesn't remember anything after the drug wears off. Otherwise, Tommy is able and skilled as ever in completing the missions.

After Tommy destroys her drug factory, he receives a phone call from Poulet stating that he is no welcome in Little Haiti and that they are no longer allies.

In the original PlayStation 2 version of the game, Auntie Poulet wears a purple dress with matching head wrap. However, in all other releases of the game, she wears a yellow dress with matching head wrap similar to her box-art rendition^[1]^[2].
"Poulet" is a French word for "Chicken". This could refer to Poulet's mother hen-like persona.
