* In [[Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas]], if you fly over a no fly zone such as [[Area 69]] (or the [[Easter Basin Naval Station]] before completing [[Vertical Bird]]) in an airplane and a [[SAM]] missile is fired at you, your airplane will rapidly beep as a missile warning sign. You will also see a small red triangle on your minimap so you know how close the missile is to your airplane, so you can time your evasive maneuvers.
* If the player flies over any no fly zone in [[Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas]], such as [[Area 69]], or the [[Easter Basin Naval Station]] before completing "[[Vertical Bird]]", heat seeking [[SAM]] missile batteries will open fire at the player. When on an airplane, the player will hear rapid beeping that indicates an incoming missile as a warning; the player will also be able to see the position of missiles on the [[radar]] in relation to the player's current position, allowing the player to respond with evasive maneuvers.
* Planes are in [[GTA IV]] but are non drivable. The players can mod the game to drive a plane which would actually be a helicopter.
* Coding exists in [[Grand Theft Auto IV]] that would have allowed the player to fly an airplane, but the codes were dummied out during development and had no airplane model to which it could be be assigned to. Players can modify the PC version of the game to utilize the code, but may have to adapt an existing helicopter model for this purpose.
