:There are two different ways of doing the Saxon genitive (making words ending in s/z posessive), and both are seen as correct. Some say you should always just use an apostrophe (not 's) for any words ending in S, Z or X. Others say you should use 's (regardless of its last letter) unless the word is plural, in which case use es'. | |||
:Personally, when I write I belong to the first group (so: Jones', Jesus', Cortez'). However, modern spelling (particularly in the US) uses the second format. I say we stick with the first one, the guidelines of which you can read [http://www.kentlaw.edu/academics/lrw/grinker/LwtaPossessives.htm here], but create redirects for anyone who searches for Cortez's (or the completely wrong Cortezes).
