Small arms damage is also handled more realistically. In prior games, shooting a vehicle anywhere reduces it overall integrity. In GTA IV, side panels can sustain significant damage whereas the engine compartment and fuel tank are more vulnerable to small arms damage. Drivers and passengers, including the player, can take health/armor damage if the greenhouse is shot.
