+:The problem is that Wikia is a gets a ''lot'' of traffic, and a lot of people link to Wikia, so Google assumes that it is one of the best sites for everything and ranks it highly. +::In our (GTA Wikia's current staff) defense, we went back on our decision to help Wikia cover up the move and did as much as we could to clear the air instead.  The problem is that we couldn't really do anything besides restore the discussion pages you guys had about the decision to move and create a [http://gta.wikia.com/GTA_Wiki:Community_split page] with a neutrally-worded synopsis of the issue.  But that's about all we can do - if we got more lenient Wikia would very likely step in and demote the current staff, and possibly replace us with someone who would help cover things up and set things back to the way they were just after the split. <b>[[User:McJeff|Jeff]]</b> <sup>[[User talk:McJeff|(talk this way)]]</sup> / <sub>[[Special:Contributions/McJeff|(stalk this way)]]</sub> 00:08, 20 January 2012 (UTC)

+:::Being too lenient would be allowing us to add links to Grand Theft Wiki on the GTA Wikia website, which Wikia are against. They have their own version of this site and we have the original, but that doesn't mean that Wikia have to link to us. McJeff and the other staff there have been very good to us as they likewise don't have to put links to here, let alone type up a page about the move. Wikia don't want to link to us and the staff their have linked to us, that's a nice thing for them to do, but they don't want to allow us to add a whole load of links and lose their status as staff there for helping our site. +:This is explained at the bottom of [[{{SUBJECTPAGENAME}}]]. We did not want to leave a copy when we moved, but Wikia chose to keep a copy running, and there's nothing we can do about it. They changed the name (because I owned "Grand Theft Wiki"), but kept the gta.wikia.com URL (which they owned), and they promoted new staff to run it since all the staff moved here. They still get a lot of traffic (because the URL is the same as the one we used when we were there) but the quality of that site is much lower than GTW. +:Sorry? We used to use the gta.wikia.com URL - which (even now) still goes to the Wikia copy - so they get a LOT of traffic from that. Now we are using grandtheftwiki.com, not as many people know about that URL, so we don't get as much traffic as we used to. We're trying to fix that but it's a slow process. +Random question, however, seeing that the IGWN exists would it be possible for it to make ties to NIWA? With both Networks, you could get more views. The other wiki only has more views because of google... also if I am correct there is another non-wikia Grand Theft Auto wiki in existence. +:Yes, we would like to make ties with other wiki ''networks'' and GTA sites. However, promoting other GTA wikis isn't really beneficial to us - as that would be diluting our members and content across multiple sites. If those sites want to join forces and merge, that's possible, but advertising each other would not work.
