The Meat Quarter
The Meat Quarter is a neighbourhood in western Algonquin on the shores of the West River. It is bordered to the north by Jade Street and an access road to Union Drive West (Westminster); to the east by Frankfort Avenue (The Triangle); to the south by Garnet Street (Suffolk and Castle Garden City); and to the west by the West River.
Character
The Meat Quarter is a grittier, less polished and glamorous neighborhood of Algonquin that is currently in the throws of gentrification. The architecture in the neighborhood tends to be of a much less massive than that of the neighborhoods to the east in the heart of the borough.
The neighbourhood's major draw is a large retail park located along the Algonquin coast, accessed through Hematite Street. The retail park houses a number of public services including a bowling alley, a small park, a Burger Shot fast food outlet and a large golfing driving range situated along a pier based on the Chelsea Piers in New York City.

- There is one Subway station located in The Meat Quarter: Hematite station. This station serves the Hematite retail park and can be accessed from the A/J Algonquin Outer Line.
