The Party is a mission in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City given to the protagonist Tommy Vercetti by lawyer Ken Rosenberg from his office in Washington Beach, Vice City.

Mission

Tommy Vercetti goes to Ken Rosenberg's office, trying to get some leads on the ambushed drug deal, following the orders of Forelli Family Don Sonny Forelli. Ken Rosenberg tells Tommy that Colonel Juan Garcia Cortez is having a party on his yacht and that it would be best to start with Cortez, as he was the one who set up the deal. Ken gives Tommy his invitation but tells Tommy to stop at Rafael's and get a new outfit, stating that Tommy's current outfit "would turn heads". Tommy leaves the office and drives to Rafael's where he gets a new suit. Tommy then drives to the yacht at the small marina in Ocean Beach/Viceport and meets Cortez, who says they can talk about the ambushed drug deal later. He introduces Tommy to his daughter Mercedes Cortez, who then points out each of the party guests. However, when Ricardo Diaz unexpectedly arrives, she leaves with Tommy, having him drive her to The Pole Position Club.

Reward

The reward for completing the mission is $100 and unlocking the Soiree Outfit and a suit bag at the Ocean View Hotel. The mission Back Alley Brawl for Ken Rosenberg is also unlocked.

Trivia

The party guests include Alex Shrub, Candy Suxxx, Kent Paul, BJ Smith, Avery Carrington, Donald Love, Jezz Torrent, Steve Scott, Pastor Richards, Gonzalez, and Ricardo Diaz.
Mike, later an associate of Tommy Vercetti and Lance Vance, appears as one of Ricardo Diaz' bodyguards.
Ricardo Diaz' guards are wearing blue shirts, instead of the Diaz' Gang's purple shirts, a possible hint to their change of allegience.
The song heard during Cortez' party cutscene is Out of Touch by Hall & Oates. It can also be heard on the radio station Flash FM.
The Biker in this mission is the only ped that can jump on a bike from its front side.
If the player gets in a car then gets out as soon as Mercedes gets in, and the player drives away in another car, Mercedes can still be heard talking to Tommy as if she was in the car.
If the player transports Mercedes with a motorcycle, Mercedes won't ask if she can rest on Tommy's lap.
Sometimes, Mercedes will not walk into the club. She will then appear in free roam like a random pedestrian.
- If the "Ladies Man, Girls Follow You" cheat is activated, she will also follow the player and fight alongside him.
If the player parks their vehicle in the pink halo in front of the pier enterance, any damage it has sustained will automatically be repaired upon completion of the cutscenes.
This mission is the only opportunity for the player to obtain a Stretch prior to unlocking Starfish Island.
This mission is the only time in which a Stretch spawns in Ocean Beach.
