David Richards is a character in the HD Universe who is mentioned in Grand Theft Auto V.
Character history
David Richards was born in 1909 and, at the age of twenty, founded the Richards Majestic film studio in 1929. At an unknown time he married his wife Rachel and had a son named Solomon. He worked extensively with film director Peter Dreyfuss and later allowed his son to become a producer on various films released by the studio, starting with Nelson in Naples in 1968. David and Dreyfuss once took a trip to Mexico and paid two prostitutes to stab each other. David also took film starlet Leonora Johnson under his wing and sent money to her parents Harold and Eileen Johnson. In 1975 Dreyfuss murdered Leonora, which David knew after receiving a confession letter from Dreyfuss, but did not tell the LSPD. He was briefly suspected of being Leonora's killer as was his son Solomon, although no charges were ever brought. He gave control of his film studio to Solomon in 1978 but presumably continued to give advice to Solomon about the industry. He later received a star on the Vinewood Walk of Fame, presumably survived his wife Rachel and saw the birth of his grandson Ira before passing away in 2012 at the age of 103.
