Heads-Up Display

A Heads-up display, often abbreviated as HUD, is a set of indicators used to show the player's current status in the game, such as the score, health/armor points, and the like. Most games, especially the Grand Theft Auto series, uses this system.

The HUD in Grand Theft Auto may display the following information:

• Money
• Weapons selected
• Health/armor points
• Respect level (GTA 2)
• Skills (GTA San Andreas)
• Radar
• Wanted level

The radar

The radar (which, technically, should have been called a GPS), is a display showing the player's current location in the game.
