Re: Badges

Hi Faizanali, and welcome to GTW! Looking at the badge you uploaded, am I right in saying that is a texture file extracted from the game's files? Different parts of that image are used on different parts of the bike, for example the "NRG 900 RR" on this image.

If that's is correct, I think it would be wrong to upload the whole texture to this website. That would just be copying the game files onto this website, which is not what we are for. We need useful, relevant information and images. What would maybe be better is if you extracted the relevant parts from that image - for example the 'NRG 900 RR' part (to show the logo for that bike), or the Shitzu logo. Uploading those things separately, and showing them in the article separately, makes them useful. Just uploading the whole texture in one go is not very useful, and it might be wrong to do that.

If you're not able (or willing) to cut out all the individual parts, then you could upload the whole texture, and put it in a new category asking other users to modify it to make it useful (such as Category:Images to modify). Does that make sense? gboyers ^talk 02:48, 8 September 2012 (UTC)

That's a good spot, but a whole page is probably too much for 'HoBo' at this stage, because we don't actually know anything about it. It might not even be a garbage company - it could be the shop the dumpster belongs to, or the company that removes it, or a department of the council, or just a sticker that someone has put on it. I don't like having pages that are one-line articles ("Hobo is a garbage company in GTA V.") or just guesses. Once the game comes out, and we can read the whole poster/sticker, we will have more information and be able to make a page about it. For now, it's probably better to just mention it on one of the GTA V pages somewhere. Keep looking though! gboyers ^talk 03:11, 8 September 2012 (UTC)
