Inside the recording studio, Carl is on the phone discussing business, when Toreno takes it from his hand and ends the call. He tells Carl he has one final job before he spares Carl for good. Carl angrily says he is tired of working for Toreno and threatens to kill him; the situation is disarmed when Carl's phone rings and, after being prompted by Toreno, Carl answers it. Surprisingly, on the other side is brother [[Sweet]]. Realizing that Toreno has delivered his promise, Carl asks him what the "little job" is. Toreno tells him the "simple job" is nothing but to go pick up his brother.
Carl arrives at the [[Los Santos Police Headquarters]] in [[Pershing Square]], and is greeted by the newly-freed Sweet. Carl tells him how he's moved up in the world, owning a [[Doherty Garage|business in San Fierro]], [[The Four Dragons Casino|a stake in a casino]], and a [[Madd Dogg's Crib|mansion]]. Sweet is not impressed and demands to be taken back to [[Grove Street]]. When Carl tries to explain the dangers of going back there to Sweet, he realizes that his brother hasn't steered clear of the street loyalty code and has probably assumed that he too left the Families for dead just for the heck of money and power, much alike former friend [[Big Smoke|Melvin "Big Smoke" Harris]], whose betrayal had [[The Green Sabre|landed Sweet in prison in the first place]]. *Carl's phone suddenly sticks like a magnet to the recording table when Toreno disconnects the call in the beginning and keeps it away on the table.
*Ending up in the black [[Vincent]] at the trigger of the final cutscene will cause the mission to fail, and will waste the player, as the Vincent is scripted to despawn at this point.
*Despite the fact that he killed him [[Pier 69 (mission)|during one of his deals with the Loco Syndicate]], Carl never reveals anything about Ryder's betrayal to Sweet. CJ: Toreno, fuck you. I almost lost my life out there for you.

Toreno: I've just got one tiny little thing for you to do, then I'm out of your life forever.

CJ: You know what? (pulls out a pistol) I'm tired of your fucking little jobs.

(Suddenly, the phone rings, and Carl picks it up after Toreno nods in position.)

CJ: Hello?

Sweet: Carl, it's me, Sweet.

CJ: (sits down, sunk into the chair) Aw, Sweet!

Sweet: I don't know what happened, they just released me. No idea what's going on, but I'm in the square outside the precinct in Commerce.

CJ: Alright you hold tight, I'll be right there.

Sweet: Alright.

(Carl hangs up the phone and rises.)

CJ: So what was that little job you was talking about, Toreno?

Toreno: I just want you to go pick up your brother. Get out of here.

(Carl arrives at the precinct, and is greeted by Sweet.)

Sweet: What's up, bro?

CJ: Hey, what's up, man?

Sweet: How you doin', bro?

CJ: I'm alright, man. Hey, man - we off to our new spot! We got a mansion, Sweet! We been putting in work, and shit is going well. We got a stake in a casino, we got some insane shit in Fierro, we're getting into the rap game! Hey man, let me get you some new clothes, c'mon!

Sweet: New clothes? (keeps his briefcase down) Nigga, what the fuck is this bullshit?

CJ: What you mean, man? What's mine is yours, and you know that.

Sweet: You never did get it, did you, Carl? I need to check on things in the hood. Man, that's the problem. You always a perpetrator, runing from what's real.

CJ: Hey man, shit's fucked up there. You don't want to be in the hood.

Sweet: No. That's exactly where I want to be. What you done for our hood?

CJ: Man, what the hood done for me? Always dragging me down. Ever since I got out of the hood shit been cracking. That's everybody's dream, to get out of the hood...

Sweet: Man, you sound just like Smoke right now.

CJ: Alright, man, you hard. I'm gonna show you what's going on in the hood. (once in the vehicle) You gotta understand, shit's all fucked up now, dude.

Reward

  • The reward for this mission is an increase in respect. The missions Cut Throat Business and Beat Down on B Dup are unlocked. Gang warfare is now enabled, and the cash pointer in front of The Johnson House also starts working. Territories may expand depending on the order in which previous games were saved.
