Home Coming is the last exile chapter mission and a two-part mission in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, given to protagonist Carl "CJ" Johnson, the first of which is the last by undercover government agent Michael "Mike" Toreno from celebrity rapper Madd Dogg's Crib in Mulholland, Los Santos, San Andreas, while the second is given by freshly paroled deuteragonist and Grove Street Families leader Sean "Sweet" Johnson from the Los Santos Police Headquarters at Pershing Square in Commerce, Los Santos, San Andreas.
Mission
Inside the recording studio, Carl is on the phone discussing business, when Toreno takes it from his hand and ends the call. He tells Carl he has one final job before he spares Carl for good. Carl angrily says he is tired of working for Toreno and threatens to kill him; the situation is disarmed when Carl's phone rings and, after being prompted by Toreno, Carl answers it. Surprisingly, on the other side is brother Sweet. Realizing that Toreno has delivered his promise, Carl asks him what the "little job" is. Toreno tells him the "simple job" is nothing but to go pick up his brother.
Carl arrives at the Los Santos Police Headquarters in Pershing Square, and is greeted by the newly-freed Sweet. Carl tells him how he's moved up in the world, owning a business in San Fierro, a stake in a casino, and a mansion. Sweet is not impressed and demands to be taken back to Grove Street. When Carl tries to explain the dangers of going back there to Sweet, he realizes that his brother hasn't steered clear of the street loyalty code and has probably assumed that he too left the Families for dead just for the heck of money and power, much alike former friend Melvin "Big Smoke" Harris, whose betrayal had landed Sweet in prison in the first place. Carl reluctantly agrees.
Upon arrival, Carl and Sweet see that the neighborhood has been taken over by baseheads. Carl wants to abandon the place and go home, but Sweet tells him that his home is right here. Together the brothers clear out the drug dealers populating the area and reclaim Grove Street from the Ballas, taking the first steps to re-establish the Grove Street Families in Los Santos right up a third time.

*On Sweet's luggage, there is a Rockstar Games logo.
*Carl's phone suddenly sticks like a magnet to the recording table when Toreno disconnects the call in the beginning and keeps it away on the table.
*Ending up in the black Vincent at the trigger of the final cutscene will cause the mission to fail, and will waste the player, as the Vincent is scripted to despawn at this point.
*Despite the fact that he killed him during one of his deals with the Loco Syndicate, Carl never reveals anything about Ryder's betrayal to Sweet. This occurs for two reasons - one, Ryder was never openly spotted as being hand-in-glove with Smoke and corrupt C.R.A.S.H. officers Frank Tenpenny and Edward "Eddie" Pulaski during their private meeting, meaning that Ryder never had any crucial role in the lives of the brothers; two, Carl didn't have enough time later on to elaborate on Ryder's involvement in the entire drug ring scam, primarily since their entire focus at that time was directed effectively towards a confrontation with Smoke and former gang member turned drug dealer Mark "B-Dup" Wayne, and towards the reconstruction of the gang. Further, Sweet would, according to his dialogue in the final cutscene, take a long, long break to rest, after his rather uncomfortable stint in prison.
*During the warfare mini-game in the mission, only the part belonging to Grove Street flashes red on the radar, but after the mission ends, all of Ganton will be under control, with the southern part as usual being prone to attacks from the Ballas in Willowfield and the Vagos in East Beach.

Tip
Before starting the mission, it is important to ensure that all side missions outside Los Santos and all storyline missions, particularly the ones involving the use of aircraft, such as the heist missions and the RC missions, have been completed beforehand. This is because attempts to pursue these after the mission will be thwarted, on and off, by gang attacks, given that the Ballas have a very strong foothold over town. Further, continuity glitches might occur, which makes it all the more important. However, Puncture Wounds may be retained unplayed.

Script

(Carl is inside the studio talking to someone over a call.)

CJ: (on phone) I don't care 'how', I care 'when'. As in 'now'. You hear me? (someone grabs the phone from behind) Hey, man, what the - ? (rises)

(Suddenly, the phone rings, and Carl picks it up after Toreno nods in position.)

CJ: Hello?

Sweet: Carl, it's me, Sweet.

CJ: (sits down, sunk into the chair) Aw, Sweet!

Sweet: I don't know what happened, they just released me. No idea what's going on, but I'm in the square outside the precinct in Commerce.

CJ: Alright you hold tight, I'll be right there.

Sweet: Alright.

(Carl hangs up the phone and rises.)

CJ: So what was that little job you was talking about, Toreno?

Toreno: I just want you to go pick up your brother. Get out of here.

(Both arrive at Grove Street.)

(After reclaiming Grove Street from the Ballas and smoking out the dealers, Carl and Sweet have a conversation.)

CJ: Alright, man, let's get out of here. Go see Kendl.

Sweet: Kendl can come see me right here, at here home.

CJ: But it ain't nothing here no more.

Sweet: Rome wasn't built in a day, niggah!

CJ: (walks away) My brother can be a real pain in the ass.

Post-mission Phone Call

Catalina: Hello, Claude, baby. I thought I call to say how much I love you and how well endowed you are!

CJ: Yo, Catalina, it's Carl. I think you got the wrong number.

Catalina: Oh, Carl! So sorry, it is such an easy mistake to make, especially when I am so light-headed with love, and lust.

CJ: Yeah, well I,-

Catalina: No time, byeeee!

Reward

 • The reward for this mission is an increase in respect. The missions Cut Throat Business and Beat Down on B Dup are unlocked. Gang warfare is now enabled, and the cash pointer in front of The Johnson House also starts working. Territories may expand depending on the order in which previous games were saved.

Trivia
