Category talk:Races
I looked at the definition of race as "a contest between people, animals, vehicles, etc. where the goal is to be the first to reach some objective." I think going through checkpoints without competing against anything (like Caddy Daddy) shouldn't be categorized as a race.--spaceeinstein 20:43, 16 September 2011 (BST)
- You're right that it's not technically a race if there are no opponents, but how else would we categorise it? We could call it a "Checkpoint Challenge" or something, but I think most people will understand if we call them races. I think that's less confusing than having separate categories for very similar things, and expecting users to find the right one easily. I think the best option is to keep them in one category (unless there are dozens), and then the Races page can distinguish between them.
