Barracks OL: Difference between revisions

Appearing only when the player achieves a 6-star [[Wanted Level in GTA III Era|wanted level]], the Barracks OL is a military truck based on the [[Flatbed]], which, when first introduced in GTA III, is initially no different to the Flatbed barring slightly different body colors and a modified bed design with additional fencing. Having made repeated appearances between GTA III and GTA Vice City Stories, the truck has undergone extensive modifications to distinguish it further from the Flatbed; the GTA San Andreas and GTA Advance renditions are the only rendition to feature a closed cab, as opposed to the open cabs of other renditions. In GTA SAn ANdreas, the Barracks fetures a siren without strobe lights that will will make traffic move out of the way. IN every GTA III era game since Vice City, vigilante missions could be activated from the Barracks, In general, the Barracks OL comes with three types of bed configurations: uncovered, uncovered with framing and fully covered; GTA San Andreas' Barracks, however, features only two bed configurations: Covered with [[wp:tarpaulin|tarpaulin]], or covered with camouflage netting (revealing boxes on the bed). Despite its huge size, it is only capable of carrying two occupants (one driver and one passenger).

Although it is one of the heaviest vehicles in game, it is faster than the much lighter Flatbed. Its ramming power is awesome: it can easily penetrate a SWAT roadblock. As it is long and has 2 rear axles, it suffers from understeer at higher speeds. The Barracks OL has all-wheel drive, but because of its size and weight, it can easily get stuck in off-road terrain. Much like other vehicles in the game, it will explode if it collides with a [[Rhino]] tank. These vehicles are frequently involved in accidents due to the carelessness of their drivers.
