:{{Rebut}} This has been mentioned at least twice before here. Number one, the game is meant to be realistic. In reality, you can't fly a plane without proper training. Number two, the game is set in NYC, where the 9/11 attacks took place, so that would have made the inclusion of flyable planes pretty awkward.

:{{Rebut}} What does 9/11 have to do with it? Actually GTA SA was made in like 2004. 9/11 was in 2001. GTAIV wasn't set in NY. It was based on NY, but wasn't actually NY;therefore,(Just learned about the ;therefore thing)it wouldn't have to do with 9/11.

{{Gripe}}No checkpoints. I mean, you're almost finishing a mission, and then you fail it because of some stupid motive like "Mr. Very very very noobish duck that you don't even know and is at the other side of the city" died. Then, you restart everything from the beginning, ONLY to fail it again for another stupid motive. Not insulting R*, as they make great games and already put checkpoints in TBoGT, but they could release a patch in Live to correct this in the actual game.

{{Gripe}} I played SA heaps an I got my driving skill up real high, nothing improved really, I still spin out heaps with max skill, its just some stat. I dunno wtf your on, Bikestat and Cyclestat were good, but pilot stat wasnt too good.

:{{Rebut}} You keep spinning out despite your high driving skill? Congratulations! We really don't care about your lack of skill. Oh and by the way, the driving skill would be a useless feature in a game that focuses on realisim like GTA IV. The reason? Read above gripes.

:Okay, think about it for a second, driving-skill-not-in-GTA-IV-complaining-guy. You buy a car, you have never driven a car before. You are fairly shitty at it, you bump into things quite a lot (lets put aside the fact that you would never be allowed in a car without ever driven one before without supervision), you oversteer turns, spin out, lets face it, you're not that good. However, after driving a lot, you learn how to drive properly, you know when to brake during turns, you know how to parallel park etc. The CAR however, does NOT improve in performance. You may find turning easier because you have driven around a lot, but the CAR is not evolving to YOU. YOU are evolving to driving. This is why it was removed. In GTA SA, when you started driving, you were FORCED to deal with bad handling until the game believed your CHARACTER had evolved to the point which he knew how to drive, and then suddenly, cars had fantastic handling. In GTA IV this is removed so your driving skill becomes the actual skill of the player, because as the player, if you are experienced with driving in the game, driving will become easier as you will know how to handle it, but the car does not suddenly become easier to handle.

{{Gripe}}The feature of opening the trunk of a car and storing items in it is not in the game, and hurts the realism of the game when the player can't open the trunk of the car.

{{Rebut}} Okay you two dumbasses, time to settle this. Planes were taken out because of 2 things, their irrelevancy to the size of Liberty City (small), and 9/11 controversy. Griper, you're a retard for even griping about 9/11 in the first place, and also for wanting the ever so nonexistant longest gripe record. I live in NYC and I know about 9/11 and it was a horrible thing. Also about your people dieing and banning, they banned use of planes in videogames, not planes in general jackass. Nobody is being overdramatic here but you. Shut the fuck up and play your game. Don't like your game? Then fuck off and don't play it, but please for the love of god dont come on here with your crybaby bullshit because noone wants to hear it. Moving on to realism, if I happened to walk onto JFK's runway and walk into a Boeing jet and fly it around New York what would happen? You better believe I'd have a full squadron of F-16's shooting me down so what the fuck? You are completely stupid and have no idea what the hell youre talking about, please get the hell out of here. {{Rebut}} Where did you find your legal information about the US banning the use of planes from crashing into buildings in video games? I'm fairly sure that would be deemed unconstitutional, reguardless if some people found it offensive. Games are a form of art, and are protected by Freedom of Speech. The only system that is in place for "banning" games is the ESRB, and the Adult rating, as most stores won't even stock the item and thus, greatly limiting the sales, but an all out ban is illegal and unconstitutional. Next, people do use planes for things other than traveling if you believe it or not. I wouldn't mind R* adding in a sea plane for you to fly around the city in, because, in real life, people do own private planes and like to fly around cities and sight see. Honestly, how much different is crashing a helicopter into a building than a plane?

{{Gripe}}Any mission that involves a car/bike chase has all of the traffic pre-generated and has whoever is being chased on rails. It's extremely annoying not to mention boring after a few playthroughs having every car in sight look like they're on a Scalextric track. I think it's supposed to create "suspense" or something but all it does is create frustration. And you can't kill opponents until you're SUPPOSED to? Where's the realism in that? i.e. To Live and Die in Alderney, if you manage to shoot the fed's car enough before it leaves the dirt track it will burst into flames, all the occupants will jump out, yet the car itself will still stick to Phil as though there was someone at the wheel. No Way on the Subway, I emptied about 800 bullets into the biker and he still wouldn't die until a specific point. And other missions where you can't shoot the wheels, the driver etc, where the car you're chasing can make impossible turns given the speed they're going at... It's one of the most annoying aspects of the game.
