Yeah they're part of the new security protocols I'm considering implementing. Nothing concrete yet, but going to be testing it out soon. With a bit of tweaking, it means that we can decide who can read and who can write to particular pages, rather than just protecting write-access to sysops only. Might help us somehow in the future.
