Epsilon cult

First facts about Epsilon cult existense emerged in late 2005. It is strongly believed by many players, although the versions may vary, that there is a fictional cult in the game with its followers who worship Krant and Kifflom, and both be praised. If the player cracks the mystery of the cult, eventually he will be able to go to a secret location, called Puerto Amarilla Valley.

The mystery of Epsilon started with some good backup, such as:

- There are numerous mentioning on the radio shows about Epsilon, on various stations.

- Lazlow hosts the talk show with cult's leader later in the game.

- Many pedestrians or special characters talk about the cult, and some say, that they are Kifflom's (praise him!) followers.

- Rockstar has set up a web-site, dedicated to the cult.

- Many map references

Web-site

The web-site includes lots of info about Epsilon, such as some ridiculous facts, which are said to be true, but, obviously, are not. The site also features the picture of the descedant of Krant (praise him!).

There is also the Tract link, which is expected to hold the truth about Epsilon, but it is not available YET. In order to get it now, you have to send a cheque to the real address, although, people who did it, did not get anything back. The fax number, shown on the same page, is valid, but doesn't provide you with any important information.

Pedestrians and game characters

The followers of the Epsilon cult are included, but not limited to, the following list:

- People with rucksacks, can be seen near Verdant Bluffs area. They always talk about Epsilon, and use appropriate lexicon.

- Katy, nurse girlfriend of Carl, says that "cult nut-jobs freak me out".

- Barber, who lives in CJ's area of Los Santos, also talks about cult.

Map references

One of the "facts", featured on the web-site, is that "Sperm doesn't exist". However, the patch of grass, south of Back o' Beyond looks very much like a sperm, which made people believe, that this place may be somehow be related to Epsilon. There are a number of ghost cars nearby and also a so-called "suicide path".

Another place, "The farm. Cult location", is hown on the map, which comes with GTA: SA DVD. There is nothing else about it, but it made many people believe, that this is the place where cult members meet. An interesting fact about Farm house is that its windows are glowing blue at night, unlike any other window in the game, which are yellow. Blue and red are believed to be the colours of Epsilon, but there there is no concrete proof that it is not another made-up myth.

Yet another place, associated with cult, is located near the Big Ear, in the heart of the canyons. Whe looked at closely, the pattern of light and dark areas of sand form an image very similar to the one featured on the web-site, and indeed looks like a face of Krant's (praise him!) descendant. There are ghost town and abandoned vehicles nearby, which made the theory that Epsilon is somehow connected to this place even stronger.

Verdant Bluffs is interested to us, because any walking tourist with a rucksack, which can be seen here, is a member of cult. These people can't be seen anywhere else in the state.

There are two houses in the desert, which were connected with Epsilon by various people. On is the "bunker", which is located west of the abandoned airstrip. The house is interesting, because there are no poeple or cars nearby - the force of Epsilon is believed to keep them away and only cult members can go closer. Another house is located near the petrol station on a motorway from Las Venturas to Fort Carson. The house is surrounded by palm trees and bushes, which makes it look very unusual in such a surroundings, and on the Toreno's UFO map this house is represented as a dot.

Yellow door in the sky is believed to be the entrance to Puerta Amarilla valley. Amazingly, Puerta Amarilla means Yellow Door in Spanish. Many people have claimed seeing the yellow entrance triagle in the sky over the Clucking Bell take-away in the desert, but none have managed to provide a screenshot of it. If you stand in from if the Cluckign Bell and look up towards San Fierro there is a chance that you will see a smoke. There is no solid connection between the door and the smoke, but it is an interesting fact to know. When you get a bit closer to the smoke, it dissapears.

There are a number of red beat-up Sadlers and Glendales, which can be seen almost in any area of San Andreas.

Puzzle

Here is the original text of the puzzle, which can be seen on the cult's web-site:

Join us in something special and become one of the children of Kraff.

Travel through the dawn to the pass pictured in our brochures. Look for a red truck with a dent on the right fender. Raise your left hand and recite the words: "Take me to to my father-father, brother-uncle. Kifflom." We'll do the rest. Because we all know, there is Kifflom and there is Krant, and both be praised.

Blindfold required.

Hundreds of people around the world have attempted to cracke the puzzle. Although it may look a bit random and meaningless, it does make sense, when you think about it. Let's crack it sentence by sentence. Please note, that everything suggested here can not be proved neither true nor false. These are only suggestions of how to interprete the puzzle.

Travel through the dawn to the pass pictured in our brochures.

Dawn means that it has to be morning or an evening. Brochures - as Epsilon cult doen't have brochures avaylable, then we must refer to Rockstar's book for San Andreas. The only picture taken at dawn there is the picture of Sherman dam. Apparently, it fits the idea ideally, as it is a "pass" at the same time - it links two islands.

Look for a red truck with a dent on the right fender.

There are a number of Sadler trucks, found around SA which have been smashed. One of them can be found next to the fisherman's hut north from the abandones airstrip, another in the forests of Back o' Beyond, there are few more in other places. Picking the one near the airstrip makes more sense, as it is located most closely to the dam. Please note, that Sadlers always spawn in different colours, so you may want to come back again to make sure you have got a red one.

Raise your left hand and recite the words: "Take me to to my father-father, brother-uncle. Kifflom."

CJ can raise his hand, if he is aiming his gun and then lookes back. In that case the gun will be pointed upwards and so will be his and. At that point, no-one has managed to make him talk and this is where the main bit is hidden - as "they will do the rest" meaning, that the once the words are said, the player won't need to do anything else to join the cult.

Finally, we would like to mention that Rockstar have not denied this myth, like they did with many others. Whether this means that Epsilon exist is yet to be found.
