I do not support this users self nomination for patroller status, based upon the quality of edits this user has shown in the past and present, along with his continuos posting of false statements. His editing skills leave a lot to be desired, consistently failing to capitalise some letters (for example, when starting a sentence) and also fails to add full stops at the end of sentences. He also has a tendency to create short pages with little relevant information and also makes pointless pages. An example being Diaz, which had little useful information on one of the most prominent characters in the series. As well as having little useful information, the page had already been established under the correct heading (Ricardo Diaz) and had been properly categorised with the correct spelling (as opposed to Category: Charectors in Grand Theft Auto Vice City).

His continuous false statements regarding his supposed role on Grand Theft Auto Wikia should also be noted. These statements have, in the past, been reverted by both Gboyers and myself for being false statements, as I have explained on his talk page. Despite this, he continues to re-add the statement, as can currently be seen on his user page.

The edits of this user are appreciated in helping Grand Theft Wiki expand and provide a better account of the Grand Theft Auto series. However, I believe he lacks the basic skills in editing to become a member of the staff. If he were to be promoted to staff, he would show a bad example of editing skills (such as not capitalising all of the appropriate letters). The numbers of staff may need to increase due to lack of active staff (see Chief of Staff (last edit July 2, 2007), Chris (last edit January 6), 47 (last edit July 17, 2007), George (last edit October 20, 2007) and Thorpe). Also, GuildKnight and Thai420 have been inactive over the past two months. However, the quality of edits from perspective members of staff should be more important than the quantity of edits. There are also users who have shown more promise for staff members, including Egaino (this view also takes into account his contributions to Wikipedia).

I suggest that User:Chip2007 to try to improve on the quality of all his edits and stop his insistence he has been a caretaker of Grand Theft Wiki. When these two suggestions have been met, then I may support this users nomination. A-Dust 14:35, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

I mostly agree with A-Dust. This user has not shown a good understanding of how this wiki works, with incidents such as creating new pages for replying to Talk page comments; listing article links on category pages; calling himself the 'caretaker' of this wiki; asking to use staff userboxes (when not being staff); heavy-handed (almost abusive) comments to a banned member; misspelling page names and not fixing the links; non-proficiency with wikimarkup etc.

I believe this user's heart is in the right place, and that they are trying to help, but they are able to do that as a member, and staff privileges would not help in this respect. I also believe that this user should not be a patroller, due to myself frequently having to patrol and correct his edits. I cannot support the nomination for staff, but I do appreciate the majority of the normal editing this user does, and I think the user should stick to editing content - Gboyers (?) 15:17, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
